[name_f]Zylla[/name_f]! [name_f]Brynja[/name_f]! [name_m]Sashka[/name_m]! [name_f]Thora[/name_f]!

These are amazing. I love them all. I wouldn’t call any of them my personal style, but they’re an absolutely gorgeous list of wintry, fireside [name_u]Abby[/name_u] favorites. [name_f]Zylla[/name_f] feels a bit like the first flowers of spring, when it’s still frigid out, but the other three feel so snowy and magic. [name_f]Ethereal[/name_f] and smart. Stylish and inspired. The four of them make a spunky and Euro-Slavic team of charmers.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are:

[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] - this makes me think of the [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] Polacco book ā€œThunder Cakeā€ featuring a young girl with braids, her Slavic granny, a farm yard, chickens, and lots of colorful prints and fabrics

[name_f]Brynja[/name_f] - similar to above but with extra witchiness

[name_u]Solvi[/name_u]- tough, wintry and pretty

[name_f]Thora[/name_f] - delicate and icy

[name_f]Zylla[/name_f] - my favorite! first flowers of spring is a perfect description, I picture snowdrops peeking out of the snow!

All together, I agree that they feel wintry, Slavic, and magical. [name_f]Embla[/name_f] and [name_f]Iskra[/name_f] also give me fantasy novel vibes.

Just random images that come to mind:

Embla: toasted marshmallows, campfires, cosy jumpers

Iskra: night hikes, starry skies, the sea lit by moonlight

Saskia: mountains, cosy wooden cabins, but also rainbow coloured sweets and ice cream sundaes

Sashka: wolves, forests, winter mornings

Brynja: frosty leaves, oversized plaid shirts

Runa: gemstones and archaeology, museums and caves

Azura: turquoise sparkling waves, holidays, glittery necklaces

Tesni: sunshine, English National Parks, rainbow jumpers

Solvi: sunny winter days, baking, cheesecake :woman_shrugging:t3::woman_shrugging:t3:

Saga: hefty, old books, libraries, swords and shields, ruined castles

Thora: lightening and clouds, chunky boots, cheeky smiles

Leony: curly hair, stripey socks and friendship bracelets

Zylla: old houses, stormy nights

Love Embla, Saskia, Runa, Iskra, Brynja, Tesni, Thora and Saga are gorgeous.

Embla is so warm and gorgeous with plenty of strength too; Saskia is full of spark and kick; Runa is mystical and magical and charming; Iskra is sharp and distinctive; Brynja has strength but also a light glimmer to it; Thora is clunky-cool and tough but queenly; Saga is magical and bold and feels like a cool name for a storyteller.

I do think they all go well together. Azura - and maybe Leony - are the ones that feels slightly different. Somehow Leoni would fit :person_shrugging:

My favourite sibsets from these (just because):

Saga and Runa
Thora and Brynja
Iskra and Zylla
Sashka and Runa
Embla, Saskia and Tesni (we’ll call this the Greyblue-would-use-set)
Tesni, Solvi and Thora
Embla, Tesni and Runa
Azura and Saskia
Azura and Leony

[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] is red and orange. [name_f]Cinnamon[/name_f] and citrus flavors. Mostly summer sunshine but also fire which could also lean into curling up by a cabin fireplace in fall or early winter. Lots and lots of sass and also pretty artsy.

I believe I’ve said this before, but I love your taste in names- I’m always excited to see your lists around :bouquet:

A few that stuck out to me:
[name_f]Iskra[/name_f] ~ lively and full of so much spunk and glitter! I love this name! :art:
[name_f]Brynja[/name_f] ~ somehow simultaneously reminds me of the first flowers blooming in spring and the first snow of winter. [name_f]Brynja[/name_f] is delicate with a strong interior sweater weather by the neighborhood :cherry_blossom:
[name_f]Runa[/name_f] ~ [name_f]Runa[/name_f] is definitely into gemstones/crystals, reads mythology and hikes every weekend. A rugged, playful and outspoken name Masterpiece by big thief :mountain:
[name_f]Tesni[/name_f] ~ I looove this namešŸ˜ bookstores and coffee shops, up late studying and always searching to learn something new. Earthy colors and cozy sweaters [name_u]Kingston[/name_u] by [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_m]Webster[/name_m] :mantelpiece_clock:
[name_u]Solvi[/name_u] ~ citrusy and summery. perfectly tanned skin. sipping lemon iced tea in a white sundress, surrounded by friends at all times and adores hosting get togethers in a perfectly manicured backyard Daylight by [name_u]Harry[/name_u] [name_m]Styles[/name_m] :lemon:
Leony ~ ballet, romance novels and cooking. strawberry blond hair, freckles, rosy cheeks and thin boned :ballet_shoes:

[name_f]Embla[/name_f] - reminds me of [name_u]Ember[/name_u], firelight and it’s Norse so I see a red-haired Viking-esque young woman exploring the forest. On an irl person I’d expect them to be confident, nature-loving, maybe a little mysterious.

[name_f]Iskra[/name_f] - I know it means spark and it really does give me that imagery of a sparking campfire. I see a brilliant smile, barefoot dancing round a fire on the beach, the fizzle of fireworks.

[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] - I once had a girl named [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] in my class, she was absolutely tiny but always had a huge heavy backpack, so I associate it with a girl who is small but strong! ā€˜Though she be but little she is fierce’. I also like the nickname [name_f]Sassy[/name_f] which fits that description.

[name_m]Sashka[/name_m] - this is giving me Russian mythology vibes, folklore and forests and firesides, intricate folk patterned dresses, snowy boots, hand-knitted blankets.

[name_f]Brynja[/name_f] - autumn leaves, mountain climbing, strong tea, someone strong and protective you wouldn’t want to cross.

[name_f]Runa[/name_f] - slightly mystical, dreamy, soft and wild, humming a tune, telling your fortune. The Scottish highlands. I can see the bleakness of a Scandinavian winter but also the honey glow of a summer day.

[name_f]Azura[/name_f] - reminds me of the [name_m]Elder[/name_m] Scrolls, a celestial deity name - I see black and gold, the night sky, temples. Alternatively the impossible blue of the ocean, somewhere tropical. [name_m]Irl[/name_m] someone quite glamorous, maybe intimidating.

[name_f]Tesni[/name_f] - sunlight on the mountainside, Celtic music, a bold and adventurous personality, scruffy jumpers and a cat curled up on your lap.

[name_u]Solvi[/name_u] - intriguing and wintry, the night sky, sunlight on the snowy branches of a pine forest, the solstice. I like that it’s related to Sylvia/Sylvie but feels deeper and darker somehow. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is light and [name_u]French[/name_u] and fairylike but [name_u]Solvi[/name_u] is stronger and more mysterious.

[name_f]Saga[/name_f] - tales round a fire, folk stories with hidden meanings, a friendly personality with a beautiful singing voice, books about ancient history, also a fantasy element, someone who might wield a sword.

[name_f]Thora[/name_f] - a strong, powerful woman - stoic and queenly. A golden crown, a perfectly tailored blazer, black coffee, a stern gaze, a leader.

Leony - I haven’t seen this spelling before! Like with Sylvie/Solvi, this version is less sweet and [name_u]French[/name_u] than [name_f]Leonie[/name_f], more mature somehow. It has a really warm golden glow to it. Baking, fields of daisies, tanned skin, a beautiful smile.

[name_f]Zylla[/name_f] - whereas [name_f]Zillah[/name_f] is puritanical, [name_f]Zylla[/name_f] feels intriguing and glamorous - a bit more like [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], witchy and feline.

The vibe I’m getting is Scandinavian scifi.

My favorites:

Brynja - such a beautiful name, with a hard but feminine sound. It reminds me of a stone cottage in the mountains.

Runa - reminds me of Luna, but with an entirely different vibe. Like, if Luna Lovegood had an evil alter-ego. I really like it.

Thora - It reminds me of sharp thorns in a beautiful, overgrown garden. I realize that’s very specific but it’s what I thought of. I love it.

Leony - a different spelling of one of my favorite names; reminds me of a woman with a house covered in vintage quilts and carpetbags. Again, specific, but accurate.

They all remind me of Scandinavia. Which is amazing. Snow, fjords, mountains, and lakes. They’re all amazing.
