I was inspired to start another “dead giveaway” thread in honour of my partner, who is finally showing some interest in names now that I’ve asked him for suggestions from his favourite thing - video games!
The idea is to list any names that make you immediately suspect the person/child/baby/PET was named by a gamer 
I know I put this under [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Names but I will totally encourage [name_f]Pet[/name_f] Names too!
Examples:
[name_u]Raiden[/name_u] (Mortal Kombat)
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] ([name_u]Legend[/name_u] of [name_f]Zelda[/name_f])
[name_m]Kerrigan[/name_m] (Starcraft)
Artanis (Starcraft)
[name_m]Varian[/name_m] (World of Warcraft)
This is just supposed to be fun - no judgement. And there are lots of names that will fit here that might be used for non-gamer reasons too - again, no judgement.

I know nothing about games, but I was curious to see if [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] would show up (a family name for me)!

I thought of another one! I know a cat called [name_f]Navi[/name_f], named after the fairy in [name_u]Legend[/name_u] of [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]

I know someone with a daughter named Se1phie, after a Final [name_f]Fantasy[/name_f] character. She was born before “selfies” were a thing.
And I also know of a little [name_f]Eska[/name_f], which I think is also from a game?
Love [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]! I’ve always thought [name_f]Samus[/name_f] would be a cool name too – but for a boy.

I’m seriously considered [name_m]Kerrigan[/name_m] and [name_m]Varian[/name_m] as middle name contenders. I like how they sound and they’ve got fairly intuitive spellings. But since I’m not a gamer myself, I plan to do a bit more research on the characters themselves so I can feel good about the associations my kids might take away from sharing their names. They don’t have to be outstanding role models, but I would probably reject one-dimensional evil or violent characters. For me, nice sounds won’t overrule only or primarily negative associations, especially since I don’t have any nostalgic attachments to the characters.

Just overheard my partner talking to his teammates about [name_f]Zarya[/name_f] from Overwatch. Another one to add to the list!

I named one of my dogs Presea from Tales of Symphonia. I had a neighbor that had two [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] spaniels named [name_m]Tidus[/name_m] & [name_f]Yuna[/name_f] from FFX. I can’t say I’ve met a person named after a game character. But I’ve seen some posts on gamer names people would like for a baby and Aeris/Aerith people say sounds pretty/nice. (From FFVII)

Zelda right away! [name_u]Sora[/name_u] is also one I came upon! [name_f]My[/name_f] dad actually named all his kids after games except me 
but there all common enough it not visible at all, but for me it’s [name_u]Sora[/name_u] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] that I assume video game, also [name_m]Link[/name_m]!

Maybe not super giveaway but I just played 20 hours of Arkham Asylum and now I want to name my kid [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] after Batman.
