[name]Just[/name] in case my first born turns out to be a girl, we thought we’d get some girls’ names.
I really love the name [name]Cecilia[/name] and I’m partial to using it as a middle name. I’m not opposed to using it as a fn, but I really don’t like the nn CeCe.
Here are some names that I like for girls:
[name]Isobel[/name]
[name]Grace[/name]
[name]Ella[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]/[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Lily[/name]
[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Ava[/name]
Which of these do you think goes best with [name]Cecilia[/name] as a mn?
Are there any other suggestions you could give?
[name]Cecilia[/name] is lovely but very “s” heavy so I’d avoid a first name with a “s” sound particularly one that ends with an “s”. So that’d rule out:
[name]Isobel[/name]
[name]Grace[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
Cecilia is also a long name which for me makes Juliet Cecilia and Eleanor Cecilia seem like a bit of a mouthful to me.
I actually like Caroline Cecilia a lot. It’s not actually alliterative b/c of the “K” sound in Caroline and the “S” sound in Cecilia but it makes for fun initials.
I agree with poster above – no alliteration with [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name], which is my favorite. The one problem I can think of is that it does lend itself to C.C. as a nickname, which you were trying to avoid, no? If you trust yourself to be disciplined enough not to ever go to C.C., [name]Caroline[/name] is the one I like best.
Others –
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] has a few too many ‘s’ sounds.
Others are nice, but quite popular. As long as you don’t mind that, you could consider [name]Isobel[/name] or [name]Ava[/name]. I like the rhythm of [name]Isobel[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] better.
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] is probably my second favorite and perhaps my first.
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] GMV. I like [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name], but prefer [name]Cecelia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] and am considering it for our daughter.
I love [name]Isobel[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Grace[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]! [name]Lily[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name], [name]Julia[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] (although rhymey), and [name]Ella[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] are pretty, too.
What about [name]Olive[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] or [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]?
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] is my favourite if avoiding Ceecee, [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] if not, and [name]Isobel[/name] as a close contender. [name]Cecilia[/name] is an awesome name and I love that you’re using it.
Other ideas for first names to go with [name]Cecilia[/name]:
[name]Emmeline[/name] (or [name]Emily[/name], which I do love but is so popular)
[name]Jacqueline[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name] or [name]Beatriz[/name]
[name]Amy[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
I tried to stay away from -a ending girls names. Normally I love names like [name]Aurora[/name], [name]Miranda[/name] etc. but -a endings will make [name]Cecilia[/name] sound sing-song.
My top 3 would be:
1.) [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
2.) [name]Ava[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
3.) [name]Grace[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
I think that maybe a name that’s less girly and less traditional may go well with [name]Cecilia[/name], like:
[name]Avery[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Jordan[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Delaney[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
But other girly, traditional names go well with [name]Cecilia[/name] as well, like:
[name]Fiona[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Hannah[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Emily[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
I think [name]Lily[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] is really nice! It flows well, it’s feminine, and the short/long name combination balances nicely. I also like…
