Are you requesting just one name, combos like your other daughter, or both? Thinking and will be back with thoughts. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] [name_f]Marin[/name_f]!
[name_f]Pamela[/name_f] has the [name_u]Mel[/name_u] element. Although it’s an English creation, it’s from the Greek idea of pan - [name_u]Mel[/name_u] - all honey, and related to [name_f]Melissa[/name_f] in meaning by that too. [name_f]Philomela[/name_f] is Greek and has [name_u]Mel[/name_u], nameberry currently says the meaning isn’t related to honey but I think I’ve read opinions it is.
Greek flower names could include [name_f]Anthea[/name_f], [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] is kind of rhymey with [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] though, and [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] starts with the same letter. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] of course means rainbow in Greek but would tie to [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in English, and shares letters with [name_f]Melissa[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. both honey meanings and flower meanings tie to nature.
Names that honor [name_f]Melissa[/name_f] that are middle name worthy
[name_f]Melina[/name_f]/milena/melena
[name_f]Melita[/name_f]
[name_f]Melisande[/name_f]
[name_f]Melise[/name_f]
Roslind
These are all nice. I do find [name_f]Melise[/name_f] a little confusing. Did you mean [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] for Roslind? Nameberry points out that [name_f]Melita[/name_f] is a coffee filter brand, not the worst thing, but I have seen it. I never would have thought of it, though.
Greek names I like
[name_f]Phaedra[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f]
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
These are all nice. [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is a little rhymey with [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], and [name_f]Gaia[/name_f], though lovely, I think may have a hard time being pronounced and spelled right. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f]. [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] was [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]'s sister in Greek myth according to Nameberry. That’s a cool tie in, although [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] was a more tragic figure than [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] I think, so you may want to decide how much you care about that.
I would definitely go with [name_f]Briar[/name_f] or [name_u]Orion[/name_u] if you use these. But many of the name you like have some nature tucked into them - some of the [name_u]Mel[/name_u] names with honey, [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] not technically with the meaning but it ha “sand” in there, [name_f]Helena[/name_f] meaning “light”, [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] meaning “bright”, [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] meaning “earth”.
Other names I like
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f] - meets none of your criteria, but what about [name_f]Rosette[/name_f]?
[name_f]Amoret[/name_f]
[name_f]Lena[/name_f]
[name_f]Veda[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] - also ties to [name_f]Melissa[/name_f] with “mel”
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] - has [name_f]Melissa[/name_f]'s letters, what about [name_f]Mela[/name_f]?
[name_u]Amory[/name_u]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Melisande[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Melita[/name_f]
[name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] (maybe not if your last name starts wit S?)
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Rosette[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Melita[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Mela[/name_f]/[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f] [name_f]Melisande[/name_f]
Have you thought of [name_f]Hestia[/name_f]? She’s one of the lesser known olympic gods and was the goddess of hearth, fire and has a bit of a homey, family representation. And fire is nature…
Nameberry claimes [name_f]Bryonia[/name_f] is a Greek variant of [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] (meaning to sprout), although I’m not sure how much I believe that.

I love [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] but live in the southern midwest and the pronunciation will be butchered I’m sure.
[name_f]Calantha[/name_f] and [name_f]Calandra[/name_f] are new to me. I’ll need to check greek pronunciation, cant remember if the 2nd syllable is “on” or “ann”.
[name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] is cute but dont care for it as a sibset with ariadne.
I dislike [name_f]Iris[/name_f] completely. Not a huge fan of flower names. I think I’m looking for a nature name thats less feminine. We hike, canoe, rock climb, etc.
like the suggestion of [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Mela[/name_f]. Hate the nn [name_u]Percy[/name_u] but just read nn Seph or Sephy and thats cute. I associate Persepohne with the beautiful change of seasons, does anybody instantly think of the dark death sort of meaning?
I chose Ariande bc I liked nn [name_u]Ari[/name_u] if she wanted to shorten it but we all call her [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] aside from her grandfather who has never taken a moment to learn her name so nn arent a must but a nice option if said child wishes to use it.
and yes my last name does start with S so [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] is out
Not sure I like the [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f]/[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] combo due to the myth. I knew they were sisters but forgot about the whole [name_m]Theseus[/name_m] leaving [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] for [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] thing. sounds like too much sister drama
love it!.. but cant seem to come up with a first name that honors melissa rose to go with leda as a mn and leda as a first name doesnt seem substantial enough to go with ariadne
