- Greer
- Grier
I think [name_f]Grier[/name_f] looks less harsh to me than [name_f]Greer[/name_f]. However, people may be inclined to pronounce it as “GRY-er” (rhyming with Briar)
We named our golden retriever [name_f]Greer[/name_f]. It means alert and watchful. We originally spelled it [name_f]Grier[/name_f] for the female spelling but so many people mispronounced it. We since changed the spelling to [name_f]Greer[/name_f]. We often get comments associating it to gruyere cheese but we still think its the cutest girls name.
I prefer [name_f]Greer[/name_f]! It looks more elegant to me. [name_f]Grier[/name_f] also reminds me of “Crier” and therefore crying, even if that’s not really what crier means.
[name_f]Grier[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f] I do have to remind myself it’s said just like [name_f]Greer[/name_f] but I like the slender profile of the I instead of 2 Es, which feels more bubbly to me? [name_f][/name_f] I like both but adore [name_f]Grier[/name_f].
