Greyer?

I have always loved the name [name]Greyson[/name], with the nickname of [name]Grey[/name]. I think it is becoming too popular now for me to use, and I know 2 little girls named Gracen and Gracynn. I’ve tossed around Greyer, but I’m not sure if it really sounds like a name. What do you think? Greyer/Grayer or just [name]Grey[/name]/[name]Gray[/name].

I’ve heard of Greyer being used, I don’t think it’s terrible, but it kind of feels like a mash up between [name]Greer[/name] & [name]Gregor[/name]. Maybe because I’m not used to it…

Are you considering it for a girl, or a boy? Either way, I prefer [name]Grey[/name] or [name]Gray[/name]. [name]Grey[/name] sounds sophisticated (to me, anyway) and I don’t think that -er adds anything valuable to the name.

I have to say I have a soft spot for Greyer. Perhaps because grey is one of my favorite colors. Grayer is the name of the little boy in “The [name]Nanny[/name] Diaries,” so it’s not unheard of. I think the nickname [name]Grey[/name] is nice, and it also works as a standalone name. I do think there’s the potential for it to be misheard as [name]Gary[/name], especially by the older generation, but that might not bother you.

I think Greyer sounds very distinguished. I personally prefer just [name]Grey[/name] as well but, if that’s not what you like I think Greyer is a really good option, more so than [name]Greyson[/name]. [name]Greyson[/name] sounds trendy and will eventually be dated but Greyer sounds far more classic and timeless!
