Gwendolyn?

I think it’s sweet, cute and a little spunky and my husband loves it. But is it too similar to my other kids’ names? I have a [name_m]Benton[/name_m] (13) who never gets called “Ben” and an [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] (10) who never gets called “Wen”. I’m pretty certain a [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] would be called [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] at some point though. I’d probably use [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_u]Kay[/name_u] and I can see calling her [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] sometimes as a NN. Are [name_m]Benton[/name_m], [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] too similar for siblings or am I overthinking things again?

They are similar but as full names, without nicknames, I dont think they are too similar. As you pointed out [name_m]Ben[/name_m], Wen, and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] would be but if the older two are never called [name_m]Ben[/name_m] & Wen I think its fine.

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] is gorgeous!

Honestly I think as your kiddos are not known as [name_m]Ben[/name_m] on Wen I think it’s fine.

They are similar, but I agree that it’s probably fine as your other children don’t go by the rhyming nicknames.

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] is charming and since your kids don’t use [name_m]Ben[/name_m] and Wen, I think it works

I love [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]! I think it definitely works since the older two are not called by those nicknames.

It is quite close but I think it can work.

I think the Ben-Wen-Gwen thing is fun and I’m not usually one for such matchy names. Although they don’t go by those nn now, it’s a risk that they might at some point. It’s a risk I’d take, but is it possible you’d have a 4th? If so, def no on [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]

I personally would avoid it. I’m not worried about [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] (other nicknames like [name_u]Ari[/name_u] seem more intuitive), but [name_m]Benton[/name_m] is only 13 and the possibility of him wanting to go by [name_m]Ben[/name_m] when he’s a little older is likely!

I actually already also have a [name_u]Raven[/name_u] (7). And she technically has a VEN, so it fits. lol

I think it goes perfectly with the sibset  I also love [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite nn for it is [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]
