in the past month i recieved two birth announcements (from both coasts) for baby girls named [name]Haley[/name] and [name]Haylie[/name] - to me it was an 80s name: [name]Hailey[/name] - in the same vein as [name]Ashley[/name] and [name]Lindsey[/name] and i don’t know anyone else with this name - in my daughters preschool or friends babies. I was surprised when this happened to look it up and find that it is still quite popular especially including all the spellings.
I really like it spelled [name]Hayley[/name] but it’s so popular and has been for a while. However, all spellings have been declining for several years and I expect will be out of the Top 100 in the next few years. [name]Hadley[/name] sounds more modern and appealing to me.
I know 2 [name]Hailey[/name]'s (both this sp). [name]One[/name] is 17 and the other is 6 months. I do think it’s a bit dated, but one that could make a comeback, as well. I do really, really like [name]Hadley[/name] as a new alternative to [name]Hailey[/name], too, though!
I prefer the [name]Hailey[/name] spelling, personally. I’m in my mid/late 20’s and went to school with a few [name]Haylee[/name]/[name]Hayley[/name]/[name]Hailey[/name]'s. So I definitely get why it feels dated to you.
I had a friend name her daughter [name]Hailey[/name] about 6 years ago. But that was because her maiden name was [name]Hailey[/name] and she wanted to honor her parents who were both deceased. I think it’s a wonderful tribute and a fitting name for this little girl.
[name]One[/name] of my younger sisters are [name]Hailey[/name]. That’s my preferred spelling and I like the name. I don’t think it’s dated at all. I would say that my own name, [name]Ashley[/name], is more dated than [name]Hailey[/name].
I was born in 1990 and I don’t know anyone close to my age named [name]Hailey[/name]. I’ve never thought of it as a dated name; I thought it was one of the more newly trendy names. Weird.
I do know a [name]Haley[/name], [name]Hailey[/name] and a [name]Hayley[/name] who are 5-6, though.
