I talked with my preacher and he told me that having an IUI is Biblically “sound” so I’m saying full steam ahead on plan [name_u]Baby[/name_u]! I’ll be a single mother with a sperm donor.
Has anyone on here had an IUI? [name_m]How[/name_m] was the procedure? The actual process is the only thing I’m really worried about but any thoughts AT ALL would be helpful.
Hey. I hope you are well. We didn’t go for IUI. But we did undergo IVF when I was trying to have a baby. It was the gestational kind, so IVF was required. IUI is pretty simple though. There is nothing to worry about the process at all. You start by selecting a donor by yourself. Take your time here. You should go with the one you are most comfortable with, given their genetical makeup. The sperm sample is introduced into the uterus directly. The patient is advised to take a couple of pregnancy tests after the two-week wait. IUI does have some chances of not working. So don’t freak out if it doesn’t work after your first transfer. Prepare yourself for such results. I hope it goes well for you. Good luck.

Thank you! I was thinking of planning for five cycles, just to be safe? I’ve been reading what people on other forums have said and some have had as many as eight. My mom had me at thirty-five, so I don’t know how I’ll be fertility-wise. But then Clomid would help with that. My insurance doesn’t cover IUI’s (or IVF’s) so I just kinda want to plan for spending the most just to be safe.
Hello dear [name_f]Kathy[/name_f] in grief, your pain and desperation is imaginable. I can understand what you are going through. This is a traumatic time. Life becomes a grief for all those having a story like you. IUI is a helpful technique to change the lives. In case your partner has low sperm cunt or the quality of the sperms is not up to the mark IUI can be really helpful. It can be a great assistance. The success anf failure rates go side by side.
We’re actually going to try IUI this month (assuming my period comes in the next few days and I’m not pregnant now). We’ve been TTC for a year+ but our testing was normal so I’m hopeful.
My [name_m]REI[/name_m] specialist said that it should be fine, doesn’t hurt or anything! I’m feeling nervous but excited!
