Having a hard time deciding

So, my husband and I have been trying to figure out a name for a little girl, but just can’t seem to narrow the list down to just one. We really like boyish names for girls, but are not against something a little bit girlier. We like to stay away from really popular names, but don’t want it to be so unique that she always has to spell the name for people or have it pronounced incorrectly. Her older sister is named [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Rose[/name] and we would like a name that matches well with this. Here is what we have narrowed our list down to:

[name]Harper[/name] [name]Lily[/name]
[name]Delaney[/name] [name]Sage[/name]/[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Everly[/name] [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] ?

Please let me know which one you like or don’t. We both really like [name]Harper[/name], but I am hesitant about kids making fun of her name and calling her harpy. Please be honest with your comments and I would suggestions if you have some. Sorry for the long post  Thanks

[name]Hi[/name]!

[name]Harper[/name] [name]Lily[/name]: I think that [name]Harper[/name] [name]Lily[/name] is beautiful, and totally perfect with [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Rose[/name]! I personally wouldn’t worry about “harpy” jokes.

[name]Delaney[/name] [name]Sage[/name]/[name]Violet[/name]: I like [name]Delaney[/name] [name]Violet[/name], because with [name]Delaney[/name] [name]Sage[/name], I hear the long A sounds in both names. I can see [name]Emerson[/name] and [name]Delaney[/name] together, but I love [name]Harper[/name] with [name]Emerson[/name] more.

[name]Everly[/name] [name]Sage[/name]: [name]Everly[/name] feels trendy to me, probably because it has a lot of spellings (Everleigh is one I keep seeing). I like the others more with [name]Emerson[/name] because the E beginnings feel kind of matchy to me.

[name]Eloise[/name]: I absolutely love [name]Eloise[/name], but I can’t see it with [name]Emerson[/name], because the styles are so different. Also, if I were to hear of siblings named [name]Emerson[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name], I’d assume [name]Emerson[/name] were a boy and [name]Eloise[/name] a girl. I think a girlie name would be great in the middle, though!

From your list, I’m voting for [name]Harper[/name].

More names like [name]Emerson[/name]:

[name]Arden[/name] (Oops…Has [name]Emerson[/name]'s N ending)
[name]Willoughby[/name] (nn [name]Willow[/name])

Good luck!

I second the [name]Harper[/name] [name]Lily[/name].

I like [name]Harper[/name] [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Delaney[/name] [name]Sage[/name] best! I don’t know if I love [name]Lily[/name] with [name]Harper[/name], and I might personally do something like [name]Harper[/name] [name]Violet[/name], [name]Harper[/name] [name]Calla[/name], or [name]Harper[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]…

[name]Everly[/name] feels trendy and [name]Eloise[/name] is too feminine, not to mention both start with E - like [name]Emerson[/name].

Good luck!

[name]Harper[/name] [name]Lily[/name] is my favourite.
I really like [name]Emerson[/name] and [name]Harper[/name] together too!

I love the name [name]Harper[/name]! I wouldn’t worry about teasing – it never even crossed my mind honestly! And, as many posters have said before, kids will tease if they are going to tease, regardless of your child’s name.

Go for it!

i [name]ADORE[/name] the name harper, and harper lilly is gorgeous, however harper lil[name]LEE[/name] sounds slightly too similar to harper [name]LEE[/name]. this may not be an issue but just in case…

for what its worth, my vote is for harper violet hands down

I think [name]Harper[/name] is great. I think it’s popular enough that she wouldn’t get much teasing because of it. If your concerned though I think [name]Piper[/name] could be a great alternative. It sounds nice with your older daughter’s name as well.

I love [name]Harper[/name] too! I would avoid [name]Harper[/name] [name]Lily[/name] because it does sound similar to [name]Harper[/name] [name]Lee[/name] to me. But I like the idea of keeping with the floral name in the middle. [name]How[/name] about:
[name]Harper[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Harper[/name] [name]Sage[/name] - since it’s not as feminine as the others, I would choose another
[name]Harper[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Harper[/name] [name]Iris[/name]
[name]Harper[/name] [name]Lilac[/name]

I also like [name]Piper[/name], [name]Connelly[/name], [name]Bellamy[/name], [name]Barrett[/name], [name]Delaney[/name] and [name]Teagan[/name] with [name]Emerson[/name]. I agree with pp that [name]Eloise[/name] is too girly and [name]Everly[/name] is too trendy.

[name]Harper[/name] [name]Lily[/name] is gorgeous and such a great match with [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Rose[/name] ( which I adore.) I also think [name]Harper[/name] [name]Violet[/name] or maybe [name]Piper[/name] [name]Lily[/name]? I think [name]Harper[/name] is wonderful and I work in schools, I have never heard a child be made fun of and called Harpy. [name]Love[/name] it.

Thank you so much for all your replys. It makes me feel a lot better about the name [name]Harper[/name]…in fact I think that is the one we will go with.

I will definately think about changing the middle name and I appreciate all your suggestions.

Hooray!

[name]Harper[/name] [name]Violet[/name] is nice!
