Hawaiian names, Kailani?

I’ve been crushing on Kailani lately! According to what I’ve read it means “the sea and the sky”, [name_u]Kai[/name_u] (sea) [name_f]Lani[/name_f] (sky). It’s Hawaiian and no I’m not Hawaiian but I wouldn’t have any problems using it anyway. I think it’s pretty usable, and I don’t think it would be too hard to pronounce. I love [name_m]Hawaii[/name_m] and Hawaiian names (they have the most beautiful meanings), and I would love to use one. So what do you think? Does anyone have any other suggestions of usable Hawaiian names with beautiful meanings?

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Noelani[/name_f]. It means “heavenly mist”. I have a friend with this name and she goes by the nickname [name_m]Noe[/name_m], which I also think is cute. (pronounced NO-EE, like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f])

I love Kailani (g), [name_u]Kai[/name_u] (b), and [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] (g). Kailani and [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] are beautiful names. [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] means “heavenly flowers”. [name_u]Kai[/name_u] is fun and handsome. I am sure if I looked up Hawaiian names I would find more loves.

[name_f]Noelani[/name_f] is beautiful and nn [name_m]Noe[/name_m] is really cute! [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] is beautiful too! Thanks.

I love Hawaiian names! Kailani is super pretty. I like it a lot.

Hawaiian names deserve more appreciation. I know a girl named Aolani and I just think it’s a gorgeous name!

Oooh, Aolani is beautiful! [name_m]How[/name_m] is that pronounced? ah-oh-lani or ay-oh-lani?

I’m born and raised in [name_m]Hawaii[/name_m] so I know quite a bit about Hawaiian names so let me know if you have any questions about meanings or pronunciations. Kailani is a nice choice. It does mean sea and sky, but a deeper meaning of that name is heavenly seas. “[name_f]Lani[/name_f]” means heavenly/from the heavens/skies and “kai” is sea. Also Aolani is prnounced [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-oh-lani and it means heavenly cloud.

Here are a few suggestions.

Makana (gift)
Hokulani ([name_f]Heavenly[/name_f] star)
[name_f]Nalani[/name_f] (the heavens)
[name_f]Alohi[/name_f] (brilliant/shining)
Alohilani (heavenly brightness/brilliance)
[name_m]Keahi[/name_m] (fire/flames)
Lehua (a type of flower, its red)
Hanalei (lei bay, lei means garland)
[name_f]Moana[/name_f] (ocean)
Ilima (a type of flower)
Haunani (beautiful dew)
Mahina (moon)
[name_f]Maile[/name_f] (a type of vine)
Kanani (the beauty)
Kaimana (power of the sea… more like divine power of the sea because “mana” is a deeper, more divine power)

I have more names, but these are just off the top of my head. Let me know if you want more.

Oooh I like it  In the past, I have loved [name_f]Leilani[/name_f], but Kailani is beautiful. I believe [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] means heavenly flower? I know [name_f]Lani[/name_f] became my nickname for a short while, and I loved it’s Hawaiian meaning.

I don’t know a lot about Hawaiian names, but I find them very beautiful!

So helpful talking to someone from [name_m]Hawaii[/name_m]! [name_f]Heavenly[/name_f] seas is even more beautiful, and thanks for helping with Aolani. I love all of these names, but I really love Hokulani (I also really love just [name_u]Hoku[/name_u]), [name_f]Alohi[/name_f], and Alohilani. Yes I would love if you gave me more names, but only of you feel like going through the trouble of sharing them. Either way thank you so much!

Thanks everyone, for all of the wonderful comments!
