Hebe?

Ripe for revival? Or just one to be left to gather dust?

I can’t say I’ve heard it before and to be honest without knowing the correct pronunciation, the first thing that comes to mind is getting the ‘hebe jeebies’!

Heebie jeebies!

Why not [name]Phoebe[/name]? I agree, I think heebie jeebies, and I just think [name]Phoebe[/name] looks (and sounds) more attractive.

[name]Ive[/name] never heard this before! Unfortunately it reminds me of heebie jeebies as well and “heeb” which I think is an ethnic slur used about Jewish people but I’m not sure.

I had no idea this was a name! I think of the Heebie Jeebies too.

  • [name]Athena[/name]

I’ve always seen that spelled [name]Hebe[/name], actually. As a contraction of “Hebrew.” It is said Heeb though.

I could never use [name]Hebe[/name] even said hee-bee because of that. Which is a shame because I like [name]Phoebe[/name] and I like the plant [name]Hebe[/name], but its a no-go as a usable name for me.

@stripedsocks I’ve never seen it spelled out but yeah that would make the name pretty unusable imo. I feel bad for being the [name]Debbie[/name] Downer of names :frowning:

Yea, I don’t exactly think its usable.

I like it. It is so unusual, even a lot of people do not know that [name]Hebe[/name] is a mythological name.
[name]Hebe[/name] is a daugther of [name]Hera[/name] and [name]Zeus[/name], goddess of youth, also known as Juventas.

[name]Hebe[/name] is a plant too. I actually went to school with a girl named Heba, her sister was [name]Dahlia[/name], so I’m wondering if this was an intentional plant theme. Anyway, not sure if this helps (or if Heba and [name]Hebe[/name] are related, but I suspect so).

FWIW, I’m not sure I like [name]Hebe[/name], but I think’s it is useable.
