Help! At an impass!

I posted before that husband really wants [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] but that it completely rhymes with our last name. We both adore the nn Ceci but i don’t love [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] or [name_f]Celia[/name_f]. He won’t budge or offer any other names he likes other than our Back up [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. So now I need to convince him that two “c” names can make up the nickname ceci. He has our whole family calling this baby Ceci already so I am grasping at straws here.

Names I have offered that have been VETOED:
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f] (my favorite)
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] (he will only allow as a middle)
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Cella[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] (starting to think of the name at least has a soft “c” I can get away with Ceci?)
[name_f]Colette[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]

Please help! I still like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] but will be sad if this is our only girl and we never get to use Ceci :frowning:

Maybe [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Cadence[/name_f], or [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]?

I should also mention that he also likes [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] but Lucielle also rhymes with our last name (he is driving me crazy)

Are you dead set on calling her [name_f]Cece[/name_f]? I’m addition to names starting with C, a name ending in “ise” , “ice”, “sey”, “sea” or even “cia” could maybe work if paired with a middle name starting with C. [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], or [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] maybe? Or [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]/[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]? Perhaps [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]?

[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Cara[/name_f] (CARE-uh or CAR-uh)
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]
[name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u]

[name_u]Cacey[/name_u], [name_f]Cassie[/name_f], [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], [name_f]Candice[/name_f], [name_f]Celine[/name_f], [name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_f]Coralie[/name_f], [name_f]Corinne[/name_f], [name_f]Carys[/name_f], [name_f]Chantel[/name_f], [name_f]Chiara[/name_f]. I think Ceci as a nickname for double c names is a great idea

Oh I do like [name_f]Cecile[/name_f], that is sad that it doesn’t work with your last name, because it does sound like the name for you. I do think [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] nn Ceci is darling too, and definitely works. Too bad that is vetoed. I definitely think two C names would give you the nickname Ceci, I don’t think that idea is far out at all.
I love the pp’s suggestion of [name_f]Celine[/name_f]. Ceci could work as a nickname for that.
Maybe [name_f]Frances[/name_f] nn Ceci?

As far as C names-

[name_f]Clio[/name_f]
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]
[name_u]Columba[/name_u]
[name_f]Coral[/name_f]

double post

Perhaps [name_f]Celestine[/name_f] or [name_f]Celestina[/name_f]?

I like [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f].

[name_f]Candace[/name_f] or [name_f]Candice[/name_f]

[name_u]Camden[/name_u]
Camberly

Personally I love [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] – it is one of my favorite names but I know you said you don’t like it.

Ceci can be a nickname for [name_f]Season[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], and [name_f]Celia[/name_f] are all nice… maybe you can warm up to [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]? I like that she was the patron saint of music.

Others I can think of are [name_f]Carise[/name_f], [name_f]Celine[/name_f], [name_f]Cicely[/name_f], [name_f]Sidonie[/name_f], [name_u]Sydney[/name_u], [name_f]Sela[/name_f], and [name_f]Selena[/name_f].

My sister in law goes by Cici, her name is [name_f]Cierra[/name_f]/ [name_u]Sierra[/name_u]. I think it’s pretty.

My favorite C names:

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]
[name_f]Callie[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]

I love Ceci! I cajoled her on my list by way of [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], but I also think you could use [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] nn Ceci/Cici–with the “EEZ” ending? It’s a stretch, sure, but I think you could even use [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Cecile[/name_f], even if it is rhymey with your surname, and still call her Ceci. She’s too cute to give up!

The only other one I can think of that hasn’t been mentioned is Azucena, although that’s less of a “SEE” and more of a “[name_m]SAY[/name_m]/[name_f]SEN[/name_f]” sound. I think.

I was also going to suggest [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] nn CiCi.
Maybe [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] (with the pronouciation loo-see-uh) nn CiCi?

What about [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]?

Thanks! I had thought of felicity but it would take some convincing for the husband. And I do like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. I think my hang up with [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is the “ya” end on it with our midwestern accent but I just can’t get on board with giving the poor girl a rhyming name and go with [name_f]Cecile[/name_f].

I always wanted a nice soft vintage/romantic name for a little girl and we had been settled [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] for years before DH randomly started hating it.

What about Ceciliana?

[name_u]Chelsea[/name_u]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f]
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f]
[name_f]Clemencia[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarice[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]
[name_f]Candice[/name_f]
[name_f]Acacia[/name_f]*
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
