Our baby is due tomorrow, and we still don’t know. Our son’s name is Rial [name]Xavier[/name] (pronounced [name]RYE[/name]-al). Its a family name, and as soon as we heard it, we knew it was the one.
Suggestions for cool, sweet, pretty girl’s names? I read about that French gymnest today, [name]Aurelie[/name], and thought that was pretty, but when I looked online I read that Americans will pronounce it “orally” which has some intersting associations, which I do not want her to have at such a young age.
I can come back in a moment with more suggestions, but if you like [name]Aurelie[/name], what about [name]Aurelia[/name] or [name]Aurora[/name]? [name]Do[/name] either of those strike your fancy?
Maybe a different French name (using [name]Aurelie[/name] as inspiration, and keeping your son’s name in mind, Rial) will be appealing? [name]How[/name] about
Other ideas that I think would work with Rial:
[name]Yvaine[/name]
[name]Reverie[/name]
[name]Avalon[/name]
Leverett
Katara
[name]Indigo[/name]
[name]Wisteria[/name]
Kestrel
[name]Amethyst[/name]
[name]Isis[/name]
Triskele
[name]Topaz[/name]
Sorry that these suggestions are all over the place. Are there any other names that you like besides [name]Aurelie[/name] so other Berries might be able to get an idea of your style of name? Did any of these seem appealing?
Perhaps [name]Adalie[/name] or [name]Adelie[/name]? They’re similar to [name]Aurelie[/name], but without the unfortunate connotations. Or [name]Elodie[/name] or [name]Emery[/name]?
OK DH chimed in and his vote is:
[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Grace[/name]…
Does it lack sizzle and spark? Too old fashioned? We’d call her [name]Ellie[/name]…
PS He HATED [name]Aurelie[/name]…oh well, add that one to my pet names…
[name]Eleanor[/name] is old fashioned ( my grandma’s middle name that she went by with no nn) but a nice name. Rial and [name]Eleanor[/name] sound nice. I prefer [name]Elodie[/name] and [name]Emerson[/name] and [name]Aurelia[/name] but… [name]Eleanor[/name] is a safe choice.
I like [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and it’s very elegant and classic, however, it’s tame compared to Rial [name]Xavier[/name]. What about [name]Eleanora[/name], [name]Lenora[/name], [name]Leonie[/name], or [name]Lenore[/name] instead? [name]Leonie[/name] [name]Grace[/name] sounds more lively to me. Or you could maybe change the mn-- maybe [name]Gratia[/name], [name]Gratiana[/name], [name]Graciella[/name]? Or go with another name that means grace-- [name]Thalia[/name], [name]Carissa[/name], [name]Karis[/name], etc.
[name]Aubrey[/name], Aubrielle (as far as I know this was an invented hybrid of [name]Aubrey[/name] and [name]Brielle[/name], still pretty though) [name]Audrey[/name] (I love the idea of [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Rose[/name], or [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Elyse[/name]!), [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Esme[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name]? I’m not really sure of your taste simply from Rial and liking [name]Aurelie[/name], so these are just guesses.
I almost want to suggest [name]Ren[/name]ée, but it may be too matchy with Rial … hmm, I think someone already suggested [name]Aurora[/name], so that doesn’t need to be repeated. I have nothing else, sorry.
