Help! Baby Girl due in six weeks!

Due late [name]January[/name], but feeling she may arrive the week after new years. The first girl in the family (5 grandsons). Sibling is nearly 10 years old, [name]Nathaniel[/name] (goes by [name]Nate[/name]). Husband’s side has old English heritage we try to honor. Still too many choices, and no one in our immediate family of three agrees. We are waiting to see her first. Btw, [name]Nate[/name] is a carrot top (Irish on my side), good chance his little sister will be a red-head or blonde. Our last name starts with M.

My options in no particular order:

[name]Virginia[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] ([name]Ginny[/name] or [name]Ginger[/name] if she’s a redhead, apparently there is already a new [name]Scarlett[/name] in the extended family).
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Elyse[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Marylou[/name] [name]Elena[/name]?? (First name is my mother’s name and grandparents’ names combined…partial to this but having trouble with middle names)

I have trended toward three-syllable names, hubby less. So I would appreciate feedback on the above as well as others that are now surfacing: [name]Celia[/name], [name]Cynthia[/name], [name]Lauren[/name], [name]Sage[/name] [name]Ann[/name], [name]Sarah[/name] (ugh), [name]Althea[/name]/[name]Thea[/name].

Desperate for some outside advice; we are not sharing with family yet. Thanks so much!

[name]Hi[/name], and congrats! I love the name [name]Nathaniel[/name]! To go with it, (and the red/blonde hair!) I picture:

[name]Virginia[/name] [name]Leigh[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Elise[/name] (I like this spelling of [name]Elise[/name])
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Marylou[/name] (I like [name]Marylou[/name] as a mn.)

Congrats on your pregnancy! Here are my opinions on your name list. Best wishes to you.
[name]Virginia[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] - This is a lovely pairing but I would hesitate to use the nn [name]Ginger[/name]. I have read numerouse stories over the years regarding teasing and bullying of redhead children and giving her the nn [name]Ginger[/name] may encourage a similar situation to arise. I think [name]Ginny[/name] as a nickname would the better option.
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Elyse[/name] - [name]Love[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] but the flow with [name]Elyse[/name] is not the best. It’s a bit of a tongue twister with the “l” sounds.
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Sage[/name] - Very pretty
[name]Marylou[/name] [name]Elena[/name] - It’s wonderful that you’re honouring family members but this is mouthful. [name]Mary[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] or [name]Mary[/name] [name]Helena[/name] would be lovely combinations.

[name]Celia[/name] - Ok but prefer [name]Cecily[/name] or [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Cynthia[/name] - Pretty name but underused and underappreciated
[name]Lauren[/name] - Dated to my ears. [name]How[/name] about [name]Laura[/name], [name]Laurel[/name] or [name]Lorelei[/name]?
[name]Sage[/name] [name]Ann[/name] - Awkward twosome that blend into one another (sagein). [name]Anna[/name] [name]Sage[/name] or Annabeth [name]Sage[/name] would be better options.
[name]Sarah[/name] - Ok but popular
[name]Althea[/name]/[name]Thea[/name] - OK but prefer [name]Theodora[/name], [name]Theodosia[/name] or [name]Alethea[/name] better.

Uggh, just wrote this long reply and lost the entire thing…new at this!

Bottom line:

Cutting out [name]Sarah[/name], [name]Sage[/name] [name]Ann[/name] and [name]Lauren[/name]. Never contenders.
Had considered [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] ([name]Katie[/name]/[name]Kate[/name] with option for [name]Eliza[/name] nicknames) for a red-headed girl. But that Middleton woman just ruined it all for me!

Any alternative mn for [name]Caroline[/name]?
Any fm options for [name]Marylou[/name] as a middle name (my mom goes by [name]Mary[/name] [name]Lou[/name] so she’s covered, I want to string it together)? I don’t think any of my fm options to date ([name]Virginia[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Eliza[/name]) pair well with it. Husband suggested [name]Margaret[/name]…

Thanks so much! This so much better than just relying on hubby!

[name]Just[/name] went back to my doodle pad before I head out the door.
I also had the following combos:

[name]Marylou[/name] [name]Elyse[/name]/[name]Elise[/name]…still too much of a mouthful? It’s no different really than using [name]Elena[/name] as a mn.

Also first name options: [name]Elena[/name] or [name]Holly[/name]/[name]Robin[/name] depending on whether she arrives early or late!

[name]Will[/name] check back with everyone later today…thanks!
Big siggh, just got an acupuncture/moxibustion appt for [name]Monday[/name]. Last thing I need Xmas week is a breech baby!

Instead of [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], how about [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]? (You can also spell [name]Katherine[/name] with a C to make it different from [name]Kate[/name] Middleton.)

Any alternative mn for [name]Caroline[/name]?
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] would be pretty!
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]May[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Grace[/name]

For [name]Marylou[/name], how about:
[name]Katherine[/name] [name]Marylou[/name]
[name]Kate[/name] [name]Marylou[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Marylou[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Marylou[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Marylou[/name]

I like Kyesma’s suggestion [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. The [name]Catherine[/name] spelling is [name]Kate[/name] Middleton’s actual name. [name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Katherine[/name] is such a lovely, classic name that I wouldn’t let Ms. Middleton dissuade you from choosing it if you love it. Personally I prefer [name]Caroline[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name] to [name]Catherine[/name]. Here are some other middle name suggestions for [name]Caroline[/name].
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Marylou[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Helena[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Margot[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Juno[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Flora[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Sybil[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Joy[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Ada[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Esme[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Garnet[/name]

Wow! Thanks for giving me so much to sift through! [name]Love[/name] spending my sleepless moments on stuff like this

I love both [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] and could picture either on a blonde or red haired girl.

Some combos:
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]- This is utterly prefect imo
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Mary[/name]- Simple and sophisticated
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] “[name]Eliza[/name]”
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]
