[name]Hi[/name]! DH and I can’t seem to make a final decision on a name for a girl or even narrow down our list. We would love any input on our name choices! None of the names seem like “the one” yet, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated! The middle name will likely be [name]Josephine[/name] to honor my grandmother. Thank you so much!
My favorites from your list are [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Natalie[/name] - they are both on my list as well, although I’d probably never use either of them since they’re becoming extremely popular. I also like [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Lillian[/name].
With [name]Josephine[/name] as the middle, I would probably pick [name]Charlotte[/name], since it seems to have the best flow.
My favorite is [name]Eva[/name]. [name]Eva[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] really pretty and classic. All the names on your list are beautiful though. I also like [name]Natalie[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] with [name]Josephine[/name] and if you went with [name]Amelia[/name] you could nickname her [name]Mia[/name].
All of the names on your list are quite popular for my taste
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] or [name]Eva[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] sounds best
I like [name]Emma[/name] better
[name]Mia[/name] can be a nn for [name]Amelia[/name]. [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] sounds pretty nice too, so I vote for either [name]Emma[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name]. They are quite similar.
I dislike the look of [name]Emilia[/name].
All gorgeous names. I like [name]Emma[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Lily[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], and [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] the best. I do [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Emilia[/name] (it’s an old family name, so it’s high on my list), but with [name]Josephine[/name] it seems like it’s too long. It does have a nice flow though – maybe if your last name is short, you could get away with it. And as pps have said, [name]Mia[/name] is an established nn for [name]Emilia[/name]/[name]Amelia[/name], so maybe you could both get what you want with that one.
I love the name [name]Natalie[/name], but [name]Natalie[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] does not flow very well due to similar endings of both names (each ending with the long E sound).
[name]Charlotte[/name] is the only one I think that flows nicely with [name]Josephine[/name].
The only one that I might avoid is [name]Eva[/name] because there are two pn, so it could lead to mispronunciations a lot. I have always heard it pn “Eh-vuh” since it is a Spanish name. I have never heard “ee-vuh” I’m guessing this is the English pn?
[name]Emilia[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is gorgeous, and [name]Emilia[/name] is a wonderful and beautiful name
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is smooth, flowing, and gorgeously classic
[name]Lily[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is also flowing and classic
I love all of them! It’s hard to choose one, but my fave is [name]Emilia[/name] [name]Josephine[/name].
I also like [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Mia[/name] and [name]Emilia[/name]. I’m not too crazy about [name]Lillian[/name] but I love the [name]Lily[/name] nickname.
Some people use [name]Mia[/name] as a nickname for [name]Amelia[/name] and I guess you could use it as a nickname for [name]Emilia[/name].
I love the idea of [name]Mia[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] (this is the second time I’ve heard this combo in the last several months) and I wonder if I had heard it when I had my daughter if I would’ve used it. I used [name]Mia[/name] [name]Isobel[/name], which I still love. But [name]Josephine[/name] sounds so amazing with [name]Mia[/name].
I also agree that [name]Emilia[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name] are ways to get [name]Mia[/name] as a nn if it helps you and your DH compromise.
[name]Love[/name]: [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Lily[/name] - both sound gorgeous with [name]Josephine[/name]. [name]Amelia[/name] is beautiful (and might get you nn [name]Mia[/name], as pp said). [name]Lily[/name] just looks and sounds so right, its sweet simplicity complementing the length and flair of [name]Josephine[/name].
Like: [name]Eva[/name], [name]Mia[/name] - the ‘a’ sound next to ‘J’ for [name]Josephine[/name] is a bit awkward, but not impossible, and how many times do you really say the full name?
A bit clunky and not attractive to me: [name]Emilia[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Lillian[/name]
Too normal for my taste: [name]Emma[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Natalie[/name]
