We’ve always had trouble with boys names and we’ve changed our minds a few times this pregnancy. We finally settled on the name [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] as it was one we both really like and it goes well with big sister’s name; [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f].
The problem is that I’m now having serious doubts because I’m not in love with it. I don’t like the fact that it is really popular here in Australia (like in the top 20) and I’m not particularly fond of the nickname [name_m]Harry[/name_m].
The other names that we considered before, DP doesn’t seem to like anymore and I can’t find any others that we both like. Can you please help with some other suggestions? We don’t like names that are too popular and don’t tend to like really short names. Here are some of the names we’ve liked so far:

I really like [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] - nn [name_m]Harry[/name_m] or [name_m]Harris[/name_m]!
I’d keep it on the list, with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m].
I don’t think [name_m]Angus[/name_m] or [name_m]Samson[/name_m] are good matches with [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f], and I do think [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] will get [name_u]Sully[/name_u] esp in [name_m]Oz[/name_m]. I find [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] hard to say - prefer [name_u]James[/name_u] - which doesn’t seem as popular these days!
[name_f]Annaliese[/name_f] is so classic and timeless, so I think the less trendy, the better.
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is my first choice, followed by [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m].
[name_u]Jameson[/name_u], [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] are too trendy.
I don’t care for [name_m]Angus[/name_m] (reminds me of black angus beef) and [name_m]Samson[/name_m] (as in [name_m]Samson[/name_m] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]).
I think [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] are very likely to be often shortened, so if that’s not what you want I’d cross them off. I love [name_m]Angus[/name_m] and if you don’t mind 2 A names it goes well with [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f]. I also like [name_m]Samson[/name_m] though somehow feels a mouthful next to [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f]. [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] doesn’t appeal to me (and speaking as an Australian it sounds American in vibe). So, from your list [name_m]Angus[/name_m] is my pick (though it’s also in the top 100 so is it too popular for you?)
[name_f]Annelise[/name_f] is so beautiful, I really like [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] with it but I’m not quite sure where either are in popularity in Australia.
