Help! Due on Saturday and not sure on name!

Hello,

I’m due on [name_m]Saturday[/name_m] with my second child. It’s a boy. My husband has pretty much decided that he only likes the name [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Knox[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] but I’m not sure I like the middle name. It is up to me to come up with something different but I’m out of ideas too. My biggest problem with [name_m]Knox[/name_m] is it’s a last name and it seems weird to use someone else’s last name as a middle name. If we were using it as a first name it would feel different but most of the time when last names are used as middle names it’s because they are family names or maiden names. Am I over thinking if it? Can you think of a better middle name? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Knox[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] sounds ok? Our daughter’s name is [name_f]Maple[/name_f] btw.

[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Knox[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] is adorable. It is a last name, but I think a lot of popular names for boys (and most of my favorites) are last names too. Think of [name_u]Mason[/name_u], [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], [name_m]Clark[/name_m], [name_m]Graham[/name_m], [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], etc. I don’t think it’s a problem at all! Lots of those are used as middle names too.

If you don’t like the name [name_m]Knox[/name_m] itself, then I understand changing it. But I wouldn’t worry about the last name issue at all. It’s a wonderful name!

If I were to suggest more middle names, a lot of them would probably be last names too. Like [name_m]Clark[/name_m], [name_m]Hayes[/name_m], etc. Really, I wouldn’t worry about it, unless you don’t like the name [name_m]Knox[/name_m]. I actually think it flows great with the name because of the unexpected/fresh “x” sound. It’s lovely.

Congratulations on your almost-here baby!!

Agree with the previous poster—so many of today’s stylish names (including [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]!) are last names, so it’s not unusual to see last-name middles that aren’t family names. [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Knox[/name_m] is rhythmic and handsome. But if you dislike [name_m]Knox[/name_m] for other reasons, consider other X names: [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] (a last name, but also a nature name, like [name_f]Maple[/name_f]), [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Rex[/name_u], [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Dax[/name_m], [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Jax[/name_m]…

I like [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Knox[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u]. I think [name_m]Knox[/name_m] sounds really cool. If I were to suggest other middles then I’d probably go for combos like [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_u]Blue[/name_u], [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Justice[/name_u] [name_u]Parker[/name_u], [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_u]Sky[/name_u], because I’m into word names :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you for the responses!!! Ok, next question: which do you like better?

[name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Knox[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] or [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Knox[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u]

I like [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] way better than [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]! I also think [name_m]Knox[/name_m] is a really cool middle name, I wouldn’t worry about the “last name” technicality. [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Knox[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] is a fantastic name :).

While both [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] are fantastic names, I think I prefer [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]. [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] feels like a better fit with your daughters name, it has that same soft boldness that [name_f]Maple[/name_f] has to me. I think [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is all soft.

I prefer [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] but you can’t go wrong with either.

I like [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_m]Knox[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u]. It’s okay that [name_m]Knox[/name_m] is a last name. I have known people with last names like [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_u]Parker[/name_u], and [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], but those are still used as popular first names.

I love [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] and think it sounds so nice with [name_f]Maple[/name_f]. But I don’t love [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] with [name_m]Knox[/name_m]. If [name_m]Knox[/name_m] is set it seems to fit better with [name_u]Elliott[/name_u].
