Help for Archie's little brother or sister!!

[name]Hi[/name] everybody, it’s my first time at nameberry and I was hoping somebody could help me out.

I had my little boy in Aug 2009 and we named him [name]Archie[/name] [name]Stuart[/name] (my partner/his daddy is called [name]Stuart[/name]). But his is where I have decided to draw the line at using any more family names. I think they cause too many arguements as people wonder why their name hasn’t been chosen etc blah blah!!

Our next baby is due in Aug 2010 (thought we’d get them in quick, haha!!) and whereas we had no problems naming [name]Archie[/name], I’m really struggling with the second baby.

I love the sound of old fashioned names that are slightly different. I hated being one of about 12 [name]Emily[/name]'s when I was at school!!

For boys I like;

For girls I like;

Names that are immediately ruled out (family names) are [name]Mark[/name], [name]Robert[/name], [name]Nathan[/name], [name]Liam[/name], [name]Dean[/name], [name]Aaron[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], [name]James[/name], [name]Walter[/name] and [name]George[/name], [name]Shona[/name], [name]Sharon[/name], [name]Sally[/name], [name]Dawn[/name], [name]Grace[/name], [name]Violet[/name] (I love this name :{ ).

[name]Hope[/name] somebody can help. Me and the other half seem to be going round and round in circles!!

[name]Archie[/name] is so adorable! It’s been a favourite of mine for a long time. From your boys list [name]Hugo[/name] really jumped out at me and I think it goes great with [name]Archie[/name]. From your girls I really love [name]Tabitha[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name]. Here’s what I think or each name:

[name]Rupert[/name] : I love this name but feel it just doesn’t have that more ‘‘fun’’ vibe like [name]Archie[/name] does.

[name]Henry[/name]: [name]Love[/name] with [name]Archie[/name] but not sure if the '‘ee’ sound at the end of both names bothers you.

[name]Hugo[/name]: My fave with [name]Archie[/name]

[name]Noah[/name]: Cute but very popular

[name]Oakley[/name]: Seems too trendy and could also be used as a girls name.

[name]Elsie[/name]: I love the name on its own, but again has the matching ‘ie’ ending.

[name]Darcie[/name]: See [name]Elsie[/name]

[name]Olive[/name]: Can’t really see it with [name]Archie[/name]

[name]Pearl[/name]: [name]Love[/name]

[name]Tabitha[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name]: [name]Love[/name] both and they both have cute nn

Suggestions: I really love [name]Hugo[/name] for a boy and that will be my top pick, but I can also see names like Ledger and [name]Lawson[/name] with [name]Archie[/name]. For a girls name, the names [name]Fiona[/name] and [name]Elsa[/name] come to mind. [name]Elsa[/name] and [name]Archie[/name] are lovely without being too matchy and you can always use the nn [name]Elsie[/name].

[name]Hi[/name], [name]Emily[/name] (& [name]Stuart[/name])!

[name]Archie[/name] [name]Stuart[/name] is such a fun name - so sophisticated yet playful. Good choice! Congratulations on your second baby!

[name]Rupert[/name] - This is a great name to go with [name]Archie[/name]. My only concern is that it feels like more of a “real” name than the nickname, [name]Archie[/name].

[name]Henry[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this, but I don’t personally care for [name]Archie[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] ending the same way - it boxes you in.

[name]Hugo[/name] - Another natural choice with [name]Archie[/name].

[name]Noah[/name] - This is a bit more popular, and I don’t think it has that same English, vintage flavor. No…

[name]Oakley[/name] - No. This is too unisex and modern, honestly.

MY PICKS: [name]Hugo[/name] or [name]Rupert[/name] ( I love [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Maxwell[/name]!)

[name]Elsie[/name] - It is another nickname, but it has the exact same ending as [name]Archie[/name]. Not my favorite.

[name]Darcie[/name] - [name]Darcy[/name] is too unisex to go with [name]Archie[/name], and it practically rhymes. No!

[name]Matilda[/name] - This works well, but I feel it running up the charts…

[name]Olive[/name] - I don’t really care for [name]Olive[/name], personally, but I suppose it works well.

[name]Pearl[/name] - I love this! It is another nickname - for [name]Margaret[/name] - like [name]Archie[/name], but it has a completely different sound. Great choice!

[name]Tabitha[/name] - I don’t really care for [name]Tabitha[/name]. It sounds harsh to me…

MY PICKS: [name]Pearl[/name] or [name]Matilda[/name] ([name]Pearl[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] is darling!)

[name]Ada[/name] (or [name]Adele[/name])

Good luck!

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]Hi[/name]! I love [name]Archie[/name] [name]Stuart[/name]!

[name]Rupert[/name]: I think it’s a really cool name, I can see [name]Archie[/name] and [name]Rupert[/name] as brothers.

[name]Henry[/name]: I love [name]Henry[/name], but I think it sounds a bit matchy with [name]Archie[/name]…

[name]Hugo[/name]: Oh, I love this! I think it’s perfect with [name]Archie[/name]!

[name]Noah[/name]: If you’re trying to stay away from popular name, you may want to avoid [name]Noah[/name]. (It may not be popular where you are, but in the US, it’s #15…)

[name]Oakley[/name]: I think of [name]Annie[/name] [name]Oakley[/name] and the sunglasses brand, so I like your other names more. (I think the other names match [name]Archie[/name]'s style more, too…)

[name]Elsie[/name]: I think that [name]Elise[/name] is cute, but the ie ending seems matchy to me with [name]Archie[/name].

[name]Darcie[/name]: I’m used the [name]Darcy[/name] spelling, but [name]Darcy[/name] seems a lot trendier to me than [name]Archie[/name].

[name]Matilda[/name]: I love [name]Matilda[/name] so much, and I think it’s great with [name]Archie[/name]…

[name]Olive[/name]: So cute!

[name]Pearl[/name]: I love [name]Pearl[/name], too!

[name]Tabitha[/name]: Ditto…

Names that are immediately ruled out (family names) are [name]Mark[/name], [name]Robert[/name], [name]Nathan[/name], [name]Liam[/name], [name]Dean[/name], [name]Aaron[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], [name]James[/name], [name]Walter[/name] and [name]George[/name], [name]Shona[/name], [name]Sharon[/name], [name]Sally[/name], [name]Dawn[/name], [name]Grace[/name], [name]Violet[/name] (I love this name :{ ).

More names you may like with [name]Archie[/name]:

[name]Clementine[/name] (nn [name]Cleo[/name])
[name]Eleanor[/name] (nn [name]Nell[/name] or [name]Nora[/name])

If you want something like [name]Oakley[/name], these surnames have a vintage feel to me:

Good luck!

I love the name [name]Archie[/name]!

For boys I like;

[name]Rupert[/name]- it’s a pretty cool name and I go totally see [name]Archie[/name] and [name]Rupert[/name] as brothers!

[name]Henry[/name]- Because of [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Archie[/name]'s matching ‘ee’ endings, I can see some of your other names more with [name]Archie[/name]…

[name]Hugo[/name]- I [name]LOVE[/name] this by itself and with [name]Archie[/name]!

[name]Noah[/name]- [name]Noah[/name] is very popular and it also doesn’t really have an old-fashioned feel to me like [name]Archie[/name] does. It’s a handsome name though…

[name]Oakley[/name]- This feels very trendy and I think of [name]Annie[/name] [name]Oakley[/name] immediately. It doesn’t compliment [name]Archie[/name] very well in my opinion and again, there the matching ‘ee’ sound endings.

For girls I like;

[name]Elsie[/name]- [name]Elsie[/name] very cute but it feels to matchy with [name]Archie[/name]…

[name]Darcie[/name]- I’m used to the [name]Darcy[/name] spelling but again, the ‘ee’ ending puts me off.

[name]Matilda[/name]- I love [name]Matilda[/name] and its many fun nns!

[name]Olive[/name]- [name]Olive[/name] is cute but I can better see other names with [name]Archie[/name]…

[name]Pearl[/name]- I love [name]Pearl[/name] with [name]Archie[/name]!

[name]Tabitha[/name]- [name]Tabitha[/name] is beautiful and the nn [name]Tibby[/name] is just too cute!

My favorites are [name]Hugo[/name] and [name]Pearl[/name], followed by [name]Rupert[/name], [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Tabitha[/name].

[name]Archie[/name] is so cute!:

My favorites from your list:
[name]Rupert[/name] and [name]Hugo[/name] – I can see both with [name]Archie[/name] easily!

[name]Elsie[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name] – even though [name]Elsie[/name] has the same ending, I really like it with [name]Archie[/name]!

Good luck!

[name]Archie[/name] [name]Stuart[/name] Is a gorgeous Name!

Some suggestions (sorry for any repeats)

[name]Archie[/name]'s liitle brother

[name]Archie[/name]'s little sister

I love [name]Rupert[/name] and [name]Hugo[/name] for boys, and [name]Tabitha[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name] for girls. I also [name]LOVE[/name] the PP’s suggestion of [name]Elsa[/name]. I think this would be perfect for a sister for [name]Archie[/name]!

Oooh that was a great idea I didn’t see! My vote would definitely go to [name]Elsa[/name]!

One of my all time favourite [name]James[/name] combo is [name]Rupert[/name] [name]James[/name] or [name]James[/name] [name]Rupert[/name] either would work beautifully with [name]Archer[/name].
