So my husband and I have really been struggling with baby boy names. He really likes the idea of [name_m]Lock[/name_m], but we both agree that his name can’t simply be [name_m]Lock[/name_m].
The obvious choice is [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], however our last name ends in -ston and I just don’t like the flow of it. Another choice we came across is Loxley but I feel that’s way too feminine. And we just aren’t feeling it.
Any other ideas? Our name style is definitely unique but not made up. Nature, places, nouns are all great. Our daughter is [name_f]Nova[/name_f] Juilet.
I’m pretty sure just [name_m]Locke[/name_m] / [name_f]Lockie[/name_f] / Lachie / [name_u]Loki[/name_u] are pretty well used in Australia at the minute. [name_u]Loki[/name_u] is also a name from Norse Mythology - [name_u]Loki[/name_u] and [name_f]Nova[/name_f] would be such a cool pair!
If you don’t want to use just [name_m]Lock[/name_m]/[name_m]Locke[/name_m] or [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] then I think your out of luck because anything else will sound contrived. Is the any chance your last name starts with a K- maybe you could make his initials spell out L.O.C.K
Thank you all! I actually came across [name_m]Locke[/name_m] after I reached out for help. My husband is in [name_u]Love[/name_u] with it and I really feel like it will grow on me as well. I can see [name_f]Nova[/name_f] and [name_m]Locke[/name_m] being a great pair
I adore [name_m]Locke[/name_m] and think it sounds both accessible and sophisticated, thanks to a connection to philosopher [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Locke[/name_m]. [name_f]Nova[/name_f] and [name_m]Locke[/name_m] sound lovely together!
I am glad you have been able to agree on [name_m]Locke[/name_m], I like it’s soft but definite sounds, so smart for a boy/man. I was going to mention the surname Lockyer pronounced lock . yeh or ya if you were still looking for a longer name.
Also loving [name_m]Locke[/name_m] and [name_f]Nova[/name_f].
Locke and Nova are a gorgeous chic and classy sibset.
You could even try Locksley or Loxley, as in [name_u]Robin[/name_u] Hood. I really like [name_m]Locke[/name_m] and [name_f]Nova[/name_f] together as well!
I would go straight to [name_m]Lock[/name_m]/[name_m]Locke[/name_m]. I love it! Is think it’s perfectly fine on it’s own and would work as well as any other short name such as [name_u]Beck[/name_u], [name_u]Drew[/name_u], etc.
[name_m]Sherlock[/name_m] would be pretty cool! But I agree with other posters-- you can do just [name_m]Lock[/name_m] with [name_f]Nova[/name_f]. That combo is so pretty. And then just pick a very traditional, longer middle name!
[name_m]Lock[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] sounds best to me.
