I have three weeks until my due date, and my husband and I keep going around and around trying to name our expected boy. We have a girl whose name is [name]Lilyanna[/name] [name]Grace[/name], and I love that she has a lot of options with it – looking for a name that goes well with hers and also has style! My husband’s last name is [name]Meyer[/name], so a lot of names seem off the list to me - I don’t want anything too rhyme-y, for instance, [name]Cooper[/name] [name]Meyer[/name], [name]Parker[/name] [name]Meyer[/name], [name]Taylor[/name] [name]Meyer[/name], etc – SO, first question – do you agree on the not rhyming aspect, or am I being too picky? Second, how do we bridge the gap between what we like?
[name]Dylan[/name]
[name]Jake[/name] (not [name]Jacob[/name])
[name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name] (still too rhyme-y?)
[name]Michael[/name] (ugh - too many [name]Michael[/name] [name]Meyer[/name]'s in the world – including my husband!)
We’ve come to some sort of agreement (which neither of us are 100% happy with) on [name]Jameson[/name], but then we can’t agree on a middle name…
I don’t think there is really a problem with most of those names and rhyming… [name]Meyer[/name] has a distinct “Yehr” ending vs. the “er” sound of [name]Cooper[/name] and [name]Parker[/name] and the “loor” ending of [name]Taylor[/name]. Only names that also end in “yehr” seem unusable to me.
What about [name]Toby[/name]? It seems more simpler than [name]Tobias[/name] and your husband seems to like the simple classics. [name]Benji[/name] could also be a nickname you may like if you go with [name]Benjamin[/name] (or heck, [name]Benji[/name] would be a great fn imo anyways). Seeing how you like [name]Declan[/name] and he likes [name]Dylan[/name], I would explore this two-syllable “D” name ending in “n” thing more… they have different styles but sound wise seem very similar.
[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Duncan[/name]? [name]Deacon[/name]? [name]Dustin[/name]? They all might help bridge a gap between your styles. Good luck!
I feel like his [name]Michael[/name] and [name]Benjamin[/name] could potentially overlap with your [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Gabriel[/name]. His style seems traditional and Biblical while yours is definitely more adventurous. You could meet in the middle with some quirkier more vintage Bible names. Have you thought about [name]Micah[/name] or [name]Malachi[/name] as opposed to [name]Michael[/name]? Other ideas:
