Help: I love the name Kingston for our boy - others saying no

I like the flow of [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] better, but I have no objections to [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] as a first name.

[name_m]Kingston[/name_m] is a precious name
Also, loving the name [name_u]Kingsley[/name_u]…idk if that’s your style, but I love them both the same.

I like it also. Never heard of the Aussie biscuit, had no idea what [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] [name_f]Stephani[/name_f] named her son and unless the two boys end up in the same classroom years away, no one else will either.

[name_m]Kingston[/name_m] is solid and like asfakio365 said [name_m]King[/name_m] is an awesome nn and a wonderful name to a powerhouse in the business world as he turns manly! Business owner, lawyer, doctor, police officer or politician.

I love it! Very handsome.

I like it, don’t listen to what anyone else says, seriously. If you both love the name and do not care about the connotations (and if it’s anything, [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] Town by UB40 is an awesome song) then go with it.

[name_m]Kingston[/name_m] is such a pretty name. [name_m]Just[/name_m] go with the name you like

I think it’s a strong, assertive, and handsome name. A little unusual so I love that in a name, and I think it will age well. The nn [name_m]King[/name_m] is an option and if that’s a not your preference then I’m sure other nicknames will surface as they always do. It’s kind hard to go in having a set nickname, I feel like the best nicknames come about organically and are based on individual quirks, style or behavior. If I had a [name_m]Kingston[/name_m], I might think ‘ston’ and turn it to ‘[name_m]Stone[/name_m]’ and then he’d be [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] nn [name_m]Stone[/name_m]. LOL. Everyone’s brain works differently. But seriously, [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] is a great name. You should go with it and cast all other opinions aside.

I don’t much care for [name_m]Kingston[/name_m], I won’t go into the reasons but I think there isn’t anything objectively wrong with the name. There’s no pleasing everyone, go ahead and use [name_m]Kingston[/name_m].

If you & your husband love the name, then I think you should use it. It’s your child, not anyone else’s. I think the name sounds great & looks great as written out…not sure of what nn you might use, but then again you might not want to use a nn anyway. Good luck!

I think [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] is good! I don’t see anything negative about it, so if you love it, go for it!

[name_m]Kingston[/name_m] is a decent name, kind of upper crust feeling. The only way I don’t think it would work well is if the kid was really snotty. I do have to say [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] [name_m]Ian[/name_m] doesn’t have that great of a flow to me ([name_m]Ian[/name_m] is such a great name though!) I think [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] sounds much better. It’s your child though so use whatever name you like

Thanks so much- I really appreciate your thoughts everyone.

I’m not too big of a fan of [name_m]Kingston[/name_m]. It rings pretentious in my ears. I love [name_m]Ian[/name_m] though!

It’s not something I would use. I don’t really like it very much, but it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round, and it certainly doesn’t make me cringe like some names. If it matters to you, [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] [name_m]Ian[/name_m] is really quite rhymey. You can decide if that bothers you or if you think the middle name will be used enough to be a problem. It’s really quite wonderful to use a grandfather’s name (and I’d love that one in first place!).
