WOW so many replies! Awesome!
I should qualify that we pronounce [name_f]Indira[/name_f] In-dee-ra as opposed to the more known IN-d(th)ih-rah. My understanding is that both pronunciations are legitimate, although our choice is less used. Most [name_u]North[/name_u] Americans tend to stress the second syllable anyway & I think it is softer sounding so I like it more.
@ vesper_rose - I love [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] too, and [name_f]Junia[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]! So good.
@ [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] - Thanks for the suggestions! I still like your suggestion of [name_f]Junia[/name_f] [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] most.
@ anyagreenwich - I’ve never been to [name_f]Ravenna[/name_f] but I have friends that say it’s gorgeous. I don’t think [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Petal[/name_f] would work for me, it is a little too wordy. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Petal[/name_f] though! I think [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] & [name_u]Persia[/name_u] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] are wonderful - do you think [name_u]Persia[/name_u] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is too Arabian Nights sounding? I really like it but it gives me a very specific image.
@ sorceress - Oh you came up with some truly beautiful combos. I particularly love [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f], [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Winslet[/name_f] & [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] [name_f]Olwen[/name_f]. [name_f]Sylvana[/name_f] [name_f]Juno[/name_f] is gorgeous too.
Also, thanks! I have a hard time taking anything off my list. Sometimes I’ll delete a name & inevitably end up putting it back on within a day or two.
@ rainydaygarden - [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] isn’t super common here but I’m not that fond of it anyway. And the American ‘The Office’ ruined [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] for me with Ass-turd. I actually like [name_u]Sage[/name_u] for both genders! I just slotted it in for a boy because there are so many more naturey girl names that I could use. [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is very pretty.
@ steampunkleo - Aw shucks! Always nice to get some love for our picks. In the real world it usually takes people a while to get used to them. I do quite like [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f], but I still prefer [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] just a teensy bit. I used to be a huge LOTR fan when I was in highschool so I’m hesitant to use a Tolkien name. Otherwise it’d be all [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] & Samwise for me! I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Zarina[/name_f] & your suggestion of [name_f]Eira[/name_f]. [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is so pretty I love the repetitive sounds. You made somer great suggestions for me to mull over, thank you!
@ apollonia - [name_f]Ravenna[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is wonderful! I like the repetition of the Vs. So Mediterranean sounding!
@ gingercat - Thank you, I love Nimue [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] & [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]!
@ pemby - I love the sound of [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] & [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] but it would bother me that both names were trees!
@ sheflieswithherownwings - I suppose I agree about stronger firsts with softer middles, that has been our trend so far. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Persia[/name_u] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] & [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Saffron[/name_f].
Thanks for the feedback so far, guys! Loving the great combos you’re coming up with. I get a little overwhelmed trying to mix & match with my own list so its great to have some input.
