Well, I thought I was settled on our name, and I still might be, but I thought I’d consider some others in the meantime.
DH has a soft spot for the nn “[name]Ellie[/name]” and we’ve been strongly leaning towards “[name]Eloise[/name]”. I was just reading a post though that suggested “[name]Elle[/name]” (or “[name]Ellie[/name]”) as a nn for [name]Hazel[/name] and that got me wondering what other names that end in “-el” or “-elle” might work for the nn “[name]Ellie[/name]”.
BUT, no names ending in “-belle” or “-bella” please since our DD#2’s nn is [name]Belle[/name]/[name]Bella[/name].
Oh, I should also add that we generally don’t like anything that is too popular (definitely not in the top 100, and preferably in the bottom half of the top 1000, or lower – though I just noticed that both of our DD’s names are in the top 500 AND are also on steep upward trends, oh well, maybe I just tend to like names that are being rediscovered and will end up peaking in the top 100 in the next 5-10 years, though I hope not).
Thanks for all the suggestions! Wow, there are so many names with this ending.
[name]Eloise[/name] is still appealing to me much, much more than anything else, so maybe it really is ‘the’ name for this baby! Maybe I should just finalize our decision, be happy with it and stop looking
I have an [name]Ellie[/name]! Her full name is [name]Elliott[/name] and we love that she can be that or [name]Ellie[/name] or just [name]Elle[/name]. Very versatile!
