Help me choose a name for my son!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! We are expecting our 3rd child, a baby boy, in about a month. For some reason, I could name a girl 10 times over but boy names are just so tough!

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I agree on a few options and I am hoping to get a poll of which ones stick out to you.

Any other name suggestions are always welcome. We gravitate towards classic but fresh names, unique or uncommon but not eyebrow-raisers. We have a relatively common one syllable last name that starts with a C. The middle name will most likely be [name_u]Ezra[/name_u].

Here are some of our first name favorites:

[name_u]Avery[/name_u]- my absolute favorite but hesitant to use it because of so many girls being named this. I don’t want my son to be teased or feel insecure because of his name…
[name_u]Adrian[/name_u]
[name_u]Aidan[/name_u]
[name_u]Callan[/name_u]

Others that one of us likes but the other is not all the way on board:

[name_m]Soren[/name_m]
[name_u]Ira[/name_u]
[name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_u]Remy[/name_u]
[name_u]Julian[/name_u]

I have also considered using [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] as a first name, but I already have a son named [name_u]Eli[/name_u] and it feels repetitive. [name_u]Miles[/name_u] was a big contender and it’s now out, just does not feel right.

There you have it! Please help us put our search to an end. Your thoughts will be so helpful, thank you!

Out of your favorites, I really like [name_u]Callan[/name_u], mainly because of the way it flows with [name_u]Ezra[/name_u].

I personally love the idea of [name_u]Avery[/name_u] on a boy. However, I understand all too well how cruel kids can be. I would hope, since [name_u]Avery[/name_u] is gender neutral, that no one would bother him about it.

So, my favorites out of your favorites are [name_u]Callan[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u].

I love [name_u]Avery[/name_u] too! I prefer it for a boy, but it seems pretty gender neutral overall, despite its popularity for girls lately.
Agree with previous commenter that [name_u]Callan[/name_u] [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] has a great flow to it. And [name_u]Julian[/name_u] [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] sounds lovely, if one of you could convince the other! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Some other names that come to mind based on your list:
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]

I much prefer [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] :two_hearts::two_hearts: So handsome! [name_f]My[/name_f] 2nd pick would be [name_u]Avery[/name_u] followed by [name_u]Callan[/name_u]. Im not personally a fan of the others.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] food for thought, if unisex bothers you, there are far more girl Adrienne’s pronounced the same as [name_u]Adrian[/name_u] then you’ll come across female Avery’s!

The 2nd list I can see very close female names in if not heavily unisex, so I wouldnt settle if that is a big thing you do not want.

Oh [name_u]Callan[/name_u] is nice! Great flow with [name_u]Ezra[/name_u]. Also [name_u]Cal[/name_u] is just the sweetest nickname.

I like [name_u]Avery[/name_u] on a boy but it does seem to have “gone to the girls” in recent years and with it being so popular I understand your hesitation.

[name_u]Callan[/name_u] [name_u]Ezra[/name_u]

Of your list, I would definitely put Callan with Ezra followed by Adrian in second place. Of your “not quite there” list I think Julian is great!

A few other names that fit this:

Dominic Ezra
Irving Ezra
Simon Ezra
Felix Ezra
Tristan Ezra
Damien Ezra
Julius Ezra (maybe this is the subtle change/spark Julian is missing for you?)

Hopefully these help  and congrats on baby boy!

Thank you! [name_u]Callan[/name_u] is one my husband is pushing for, he loves the idea of the nn [name_u]Cal[/name_u]. And it is really growing on me!

For you, I like [name_u]Adrian[/name_u] - familiar but not overused, solid but not rough, would flow well with a one syllable last name, [name_u]Adrian[/name_u] [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] sounds cool!

[name_u]Avery[/name_u] is great too! It is being used more on girls these days, but it does still rank for boys?

Another vote for [name_u]Callan[/name_u]! It’s a very handsome name.

I like [name_u]Adrian[/name_u] with brother [name_u]Eli[/name_u] and middle name [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] (a consonant ending first flows really nicely to Ezra), but I prefer the nicknames for [name_u]Callan[/name_u] over [name_u]Adrian[/name_u]. As othees have said, [name_u]Julian[/name_u] is a great choice too.

Other suggestions: [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], [name_m]Ronan[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Hugh[/name_m], [name_m]Stellan[/name_m], [name_m]Calvin[/name_m], [name_m]Finnian[/name_m].

Another wildcard: [name_u]Ashby[/name_u].

[name_u]Adrian[/name_u] & [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] strike me as reliably masculine, classic but pleasant to hear used. They seem like winners! [name_u]Remy[/name_u] and [name_u]Julian[/name_u] feel the same way to me.

Use [name_u]Avery[/name_u].

It’s your favorite. It’s the name of the boy in Charlotte’s [name_m]Web[/name_m], which every child reads.

I think [name_u]Adrian[/name_u] [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] or [name_u]Callan[/name_u] [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] both sound great! [name_u]Remy[/name_u] [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] is really cool too, but if one of you aren’t on board that’ll be hard.
