Help me decide on a name for....myself?

N/a n/a n/a

Of the 3 you have narrowed down, I like [name_f]Kadence[/name_f]! While I’m more familiar with [name_f]Callie[/name_f] than [name_f]Kallie[/name_f], I hear the name pretty frequently, same for [name_u]Dakota[/name_u], it still pretty common among guys and gals. (Also always makes me think of my brother because that’s his name).

[name_m]Even[/name_m] without those considerations, I think [name_f]Kadence[/name_f] is the best choice. Cute but alsovages well. A similar name thay I love is [name_u]Kendall[/name_u].

I don’t think it’s too unusual at all. Of your options I like [name_f]Kadence[/name_f] the most!

Another vote here for [name_f]Kadence[/name_f]!

I think [name_f]Kadence[/name_f] is going to be your winner, because that’s my vote too.

Based on your picture, [name_f]Kadence[/name_f] seems to fit best to me  My only two cents on that name is that people might try to shorten it to [name_f]Kady[/name_f] ([name_f]Katie[/name_f]), which I’m not sure if you’re into or not. I also think [name_f]Kallie[/name_f] is really pretty!

I’m gonna be blunt. I think [name_f]Kadence[/name_f] is a bit stripper-y. I love the suggestion of [name_u]Kendall[/name_u], but I think [name_u]Kendall[/name_u] Pinder is a bit much. If I could rename myself, I would pick something with meaning. Of your choices, [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] is my favorite, although I don’t think it fits with the cute & feminine criteria.

You have a bunch of time, definitely don’t rush the decision. Here’s some suggestions!

Names for the new you:
[name_f]Nova[/name_f], meaning ‘new.’
[name_f]Signy[/name_f] or [name_f]Signe[/name_f] (pronounced sig-knee), meaning ‘new victory’
and my favorite of this bunch, Noema, meaning ‘new moon.’

Names to show your victory for being you!
[name_f]Colette[/name_f], short for ‘[name_f]Nicolette[/name_f]’, which means ‘people of victory’
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or [name_f]Tory[/name_f]/[name_f]Tori[/name_f]/[name_f]Torie[/name_f], meaning ‘victory’
[name_f]Jaya[/name_f], meaning ‘victory’
[name_f]Sia[/name_f], meaning ‘victory’
and, again, [name_f]Signy[/name_f]/[name_f]Signe[/name_f] meaning ‘new victory’

Names to show hope for the LGTBQ+ community:
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f], meaning ‘hope’
[name_f]Nadine[/name_f], the french version of [name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Asha[/name_f], meaning ‘hope or life’
and, of course, [name_f]Hope[/name_f]

Names to go with you letting your inner light shine:
[name_f]Elaina[/name_f] / [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] / [name_f]Elena[/name_f], meaning ‘bright, shining light’
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] / [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], meaning ‘light’

Names to show your [name_u]FREEDOM[/name_u] for finally being you
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] / [name_f]Carolina[/name_f], meaning ‘free [hu]man’
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], also meaning ‘free [hu]man’

Names to show your truth:
[name_f]Verity[/name_f], meaning ‘truth’
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] / [name_f]Viera[/name_f], meaning ‘truth’
[name_f]Aletta[/name_f], meaning ‘truth’

BONUS:
Nazia, a name meaning ‘a woman of whom you can be proud’
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] (pronounced uh-[name_f]NOR[/name_f]-uh), or [name_f]Norah[/name_f], meaning ‘woman of honor’
[name_f]Kacie[/name_f] / [name_f]Kaysee[/name_f] / [name_u]Casey[/name_u], etc., meaning ‘brave in battle’

Going off of your photo, if I were to name you, I think you’d be a [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] Pinder–a brave, victorious soul  ~or~ a [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_f]Honora[/name_f] Pinder–a brave, true soul! IDK I just really like [name_u]Casey[/name_u] for you!! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] you let us know what you decide to go with!

I have been on nameberry for years and read the posts pretty much ever day but this is the first time I am actually responding to any of them.
First of, I want to let you know that you are stunningly beautiful!
[name_f]Kadence[/name_f] really
suits you well! It is a beautiful name!
Let us know which one you pick!!
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] MJ

[name_f]Kadence[/name_f] is great! You look like a [name_f]Kadence[/name_f] to me.

I think [name_f]Kadence[/name_f] is a wonderful fit for you. I also want to second bassilly’s suggestion of [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].
Congrats on being you and best of luck in your search for a new name!

I like [name_f]Kadence[/name_f] as well, from your options. When I look at your photo I think of even more “frilly” names for you.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Allegra[/name_f]
[name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f]

I know these are different from the style you put out, but that’s what I see from your photo. Best of luck choosing your new name!

Of your picks, I like [name_f]Kadence[/name_f] best. [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] also sounds good with your last name. [name_f]Kallie[/name_f] is NMS. If you’re open to suggestions, consider [name_u]Calypso[/name_u]. It’s pretty unusual, but I see that as an advantage. Good luck!

You are such a stunner! I immediately though of [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Coco[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f] or [name_f]Layla[/name_f].

I agree, [name_f]Kadence[/name_f]!

[name_f]Kadence[/name_f] is nice

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_u]Skylar[/name_u]

[name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_m]Declan[/name_m]

[name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_u]Drew[/name_u]

Of your options, I really like [name_f]Kallie[/name_f] (although I would use either [name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_u]Cali[/name_u], or [name_f]Kali[/name_f]). [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] was the Greek muse of epic poetry, if you were looking for a name from which you could get [name_f]Kallie[/name_f] as a nickname. Your picture (lovely, BTW!) makes me think of sleek & sophisticated names…[name_u]Simone[/name_u]? [name_f]Elise[/name_f]? Please let us know what you choose & best of luck!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there! I’m non-binary/agender, and I changed my name about six months ago. It took me years to decide, probably because I was too afraid to ask for help, so I hope you find a name soon that represents you perfectly!

On your top picks:
[name_u]Dakota[/name_u] is fairly unisex, but guessing from your photo, there shouldn’t be any confusion with that at this point in your transition. I know you said you want a very feminine name though, so I thought it would be worth mentioning.
I prefer the spelling [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] to [name_f]Kadence[/name_f], but in either case, I totally see you an a [name_f]Katie[/name_f]/[name_f]Cady[/name_f] (or some other variant thereof) so this name works!
Likewise with [name_f]Katie[/name_f], I can also see you as a [name_f]Kallie[/name_f]! Like others have said, I think choosing a longer name like [name_f]Kallista[/name_f] with [name_f]Kallie[/name_f] as a nickname would really help to push this name further in the cute and feminine direction.

(Also, I am really glad to see so many positive responses to this thread. I didn’t know until today how awesome a community this was!)

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t worry, you’re not the first! And like most of the other votes, my favorite of your choices is [name_f]Kadence[/name_f]. [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] is nice as well, but it feels too unisex for the vibe you’re going for.

I’m not sure if those three were a definite or if you wanted other suggestions, so just in case you’re looking for more options, I’ll leave a few more ideas that fit the ‘cute, feminine, but not too common’ style:
[name_f]Alisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_f]Bryony[/name_f]
[name_f]Calla[/name_f]
[name_f]Clary[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_u]Georgie[/name_u]/a
[name_f]Honora[/name_f]
[name_f]Ida[/name_f]
[name_f]Ione[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Nola[/name_f]
[name_f]Odette[/name_f]
[name_f]Petra[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Selene[/name_f]
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Viviana[/name_f]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]

I prefer the [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] spelling personally, but I usually lean to C over K for most names.

[name_f]Kallie[/name_f] is not my style, but I think if fits you just fine.

I really liked the suggestion of [name_f]Layla[/name_f] and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]!

If you are looking for other frilly suggestions, what about:
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Bea[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]

Let us know what you end up choosing!
