I am having the hardest time with girl names. We love the name [name_f]Elle[/name_f], but it’s so hard to pair a middle name with it. I do think [name_f]Elle[/name_f] can stand on her own, but then I was thinking naming her [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Elle[/name_f]. That would also solve our middle name problem. Help me! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you prefer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or just [name_f]Elle[/name_f] on her own. I don’t usually like popular names, but [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is so classic and it’s my middle name… Any other name suggestions?
I like that it’s your middle name. It gives it a nice connection. She can have a formal/classic name to fall back on if she doesn’t like [name_f]Elle[/name_f]. Personally, I love [name_f]Elle[/name_f], but it doesn’t really have many nickname opportunities, does it?
I think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful. I like that it ties her to you. [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is a nice nickname, one of my favourites, but it’s also nice that if she gets older and decides she doesn’t like [name_f]Elle[/name_f] so much, she has a lot of other options.
I would name her [name_f]Elle[/name_f] if that’s what you plan to call her. If you want suggestions for middles:
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful. It’s always been one of my favorites. But if you’re worried about it being too popular, you do have other options.
You could name her [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], for instance. That’s another way to get the nickname [name_f]Elle[/name_f].
Or you could go with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. Or [name_f]Elise[/name_f]. Or Gabrielle.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is lovely, and [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is very pretty as well. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] would be very nice, if you would be ok with her sharing your middle name. I think that would be a great connection for the two of you to have, but might make naming another child more difficult if you were to want their name to have a similar sort of connection.
Other possible names that could have the nickname [name_f]Elle[/name_f], if you decide you wouldn’t want her to have your middle name:
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]/[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellery[/name_u]
[name_f]Electra[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellen[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]/[name_f]Elyse[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Elysia[/name_f]
[name_f]Arielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Danielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Michelle[/name_f]
I love both [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Elle[/name_f]. I have [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] on my girls’ list.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful, and using the nickname [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is gorgeous! [name_m]Both[/name_m] are on my name list too!
[name_m]Both[/name_m] are beautiful, but if you plan to call her [name_f]Elle[/name_f] and don’t feel strongly about her sharing your name, I think there are some great middle name options for [name_f]Elle[/name_f], depending on your last name
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] is a lovely name, but I did want to mention that [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is one of the most popular names right now. It doesn’t show up on the charts because most parents are giving their daughters longer full names. Granted, not all of these will be called [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] but I can tell you for sure that is the appeal of these names for many parents. It’s especially so in my state. I combined all the [name_f]El[/name_f] names that I thought would be commonly shortened to [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and it ended up being #2, behind Av/Ev names. Not sure how big it is where you live. Although I’ll tell you secondly that popularity isn’t all that anyway. So I’d go for [name_f]Elle[/name_f] if you love it, it’s a beautiful name and I think it works well as a full name. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] allows for nickname options later in life, which is also nice. So I think you can’t go wrong either way really.
I think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful…It’s also a favorite of mine, and I don’t usually lean toward popular names either. I think you could definitely call her [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and have [name_f]Elle[/name_f] be a nn. Most Elizabeths I now usually go by [name_f]Liz[/name_f] as a nn, so it’d be unique in that way!
Thank you for all of your help. I appreciate it.
