I agree with everyone else about it being classic and cowboy, a classic, strong name. You also asked if this kind of second-guessing is normal; I would say, in my experience, yes. We always wait until the baby is born to choose a name, and a new person and a new name is a lot to get used to all of a sudden. [name]One[/name] of ours ([name]Rasmus[/name]) has a name that I’ve known about for a long time, but it’s not a common name where I am, and I had to get used to the fact that this word was his name, lol. Our youngest was nearly [name]Morris[/name], and he really looks like family we have by that name, so for a few months I was thinking of him as [name]Morris[/name], not [name]Anders[/name], and it took me a while not to hesitate when I said his name, wondering if I had the right one. It will grow on you. I can’t imagine any of my kids being named something else, now that I’m used to the names.
All of this positive talk about [name]Luke[/name] is making me second guess myself, actually – dh likes it, and it was briefly on our list, but I’ve always wanted our kids’ names to be at least two syllables. If dh had agreed to [name]Ludovic[/name], nn [name]Luke[/name], it probably would have been the name for this baby.
brisen- aww, thank you so much for taking the time to respond, not only about the name [name]Luke[/name], but about your experience with your kids names and how second guessing can be normal. I hate how it takes me longer to accept a name than others.[name]Hope[/name] you don’t have any name issues with this little bundle. You definitely are a busy and ambitious mama with 5 kiddos and another on the way. You must be super organized to keep up with everybody; again something that I have trouble with haha…thanks again.
[name]Do[/name] love the meaning of [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Luke[/name], too. Sounds like we have similar naming tastes! We are expecting baby any day now. Due date is [name]March[/name] 13th. I’m really hoping that a name will be really clear when we meet our baby boy, but fear I may also be kind of like you hard to fall in love with a name before baby is born and sometimes even takes me a few months afterwards to get to know baby with his new name… Oh, but so hard to pick! Right now, our top names are [name]Asher[/name], [name]Henry[/name], and [name]Isaac[/name]. My top is probably [name]Asher[/name], and my husband’s is [name]Isaac[/name]. [name]Isaac[/name] seems to have been a favorite among all the berries, too, with my other kids’ names [name]James[/name], [name]Noah[/name], and [name]Lucy[/name]. But just really hesitate for some reason with [name]Isaac[/name], wondering if I could fall in love with that name? [name]Feel[/name] really drawn to [name]Asher[/name], but many people have told me that [name]Asher[/name] feels different and trendy next to my other 3 classic names. And l love [name]Henry[/name], but somewhat wanted to fall in love with a Biblical name that i liked more than [name]Henry[/name] to match my other 2 boys. And especially to match [name]Noah[/name], since [name]James[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] kind of match in a classic sence. [name]Hence[/name] I’ve been searching this entire pregnancy for a name that I love more than [name]Asher[/name] or [name]Henry[/name] and can drive a person crazy! [name]Luke[/name] may have been it, but we do love love love our [name]Lucy[/name] and so glad we had her 1st. Can’t imagine her now with any other name! Other names we’ve liked… [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Peter[/name], [name]Liam[/name], [name]Ethan[/name], [name]Elias[/name], [name]Adam[/name]. But just don’t know… Well, good luck to you and congratulations!
mommy of four- we do have similar tastes as [name]Noah[/name] was also on our list, but all the signs pointed to [name]Luke[/name] and [name]James[/name] is actually my brother’s name…haha. I do want to have a little [name]Noah[/name] if we decide to have a third one and it is a boy.
Congratulations on your impending delivery. Why does it have to be so hard to choose a name? If you love [name]Asher[/name] I say go for it as it is an Old Testament Biblical name and I love the meaning of blessed and happy one. I also think it fits your sibset just fine. I also like [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Henry[/name], [name]Elias[/name] and [name]Adam[/name] too. Another suggestion that has recently become a crush for me is [name]Gabriel[/name] with the nn [name]Gabe[/name], so handsome and strong sounding. [name]Just[/name] go with your gut and do not worry about other opinions. That is where I always get into trouble and worry what others think and then it influences my decision. I had to even ask the [name]Lord[/name] for signs of what his name should be and He gave me like four or five and I still questioned [name]Luke[/name]. My husband had to be the one to pull the trigger and I hate that I’m still not feeling it completely, even though God shows me more signs almost daily…geez… Good luck and please update us once the new LO makes his arrival. Blessings.
[name]Hi[/name], like you, my husband helped me to see that [name]Isaac[/name] really was the fit for our son. He was born this morning, and once I saw him, he just felt like an [name]Isaac[/name] and couldn’t imagine any other name. Anyway, best if luck with your little [name]Luke[/name]! Was nice to connect with you, and so nice to finally have an identity for my baby boy after nine months of stressing about it!
Mommy of four- Congratulations on little [name]Isaac[/name]. It is a good strong classical name. That is so great that you could not see him as [name]Asher[/name] or [name]Henry[/name] or anything else. My friend just had a little [name]Isaac[/name] the other day too. Blessings to you and your family during this joyful time.
radame- I never thought of it meaning a guy with empathy. That is something that I really hope for both of my children that they will care for others. Thank you for that extra little dose of positiveness.
