I’m really loving the name [name_f]Rainey[/name_f], but I don’t think it could stand alone, and seems sort of juvenile. Are there any longer names that [name_f]Rainey[/name_f]/ [name_f]Rainie[/name_f] could be short for? I’m willing to consider anything, so all suggestions are welcome.
Then I found some names that mean rain, and you could just use rainy as a nickname.
[name_f]Amaya[/name_f] - raining at night
Iravat, which is my fav - rain clouds
[name_u]Tal[/name_u] - rain or dew
[name_f]Neha[/name_f] - rain
Vatshini - goddess of rain
In addition to the pp.'s suggestions, I think you could use [name_f]Rainey[/name_f] as a diminutive for [name_f]Raina[/name_f]/[name_f]Reina[/name_f]/[name_f]Rayna[/name_f]. Or [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f].
The name [name_f]Raina[/name_f] or [name_f]Reina[/name_f] is just so elegant, I adore it. [name_u]Rain[/name_u] or [name_f]Raine[/name_f] is an obvious shortening and [name_f]Rainey[/name_f] even more so. I could just not pass up [name_f]Reine[/name_f] -any spelling.
I’ll add [name_m]Reynard[/name_m], [name_u]Raven[/name_u], Désirée, Adoreia, Adorée, [name_m]Braden[/name_m], [name_f]Mireille[/name_f], [name_m]Coltrane[/name_m], [name_u]Ren[/name_u]ée, [name_m]Graham[/name_m] (though I’ve heard this is pronounced as ‘gram’ in some US dialects)
