We’ve decided it’s important to us to honor a particular family member and would like either first or middle name to directly connect to it.
I’m lost trying to find a way to honor Lucy with a masculine name, I feel like it has such a tight circle of origin and sound, I just go round and round in circles.
I feel like Lucien/Lucian just isn’t right for us because I don’t like the way it can be two OR three syllables and Luca is already used in the family.
I’ve looked into the “light” meaning but nothing stands out and most names are feminine.
If not [name_m]Lucien[/name_m] or [name_m]Lucian[/name_m], perhaps [name_m]Lucius[/name_m]? You could also go with the middle name/surname of the person you wish to honour, if they have one. Other ideas include their favourite colour, favourite flower, birth month etc.
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] - [name_u]Bright[/name_u] Fame
[name_u]Sol[/name_u] - [name_u]Sun[/name_u]
[name_m]Ziv[/name_m] - [name_u]Light[/name_u] of God
[name_m]Apollo[/name_m] - Greek God of [name_u]Light[/name_u]
[name_m]Elior[/name_m] - God is [name_u]Light[/name_u]
[name_m]Meir[/name_m] - Bringer of [name_u]Light[/name_u]
[name_m]Lucius[/name_m] still has the syllable issue where people pronounce it differently. It’s not a deal breaker but It important to me to have an easy name for others to use.
I’m loving [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Lucan[/name_m] and super surprisingly, [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]!
[name_m]Elouan[/name_m], [name_m]Luan[/name_m] and [name_m]Lugh[/name_m] might be a bit too much for my tastes.
[name_u]Lucky[/name_u] is cute and amazing but it’s very much a word name and I think it would be hard to take seriously? Maybe better as a nickname?
Some of these suggestions are genius and great options. Many have been added to my list. Thank you.
