I’ve posted threads like this several times, though I think my style has changed slightly, so I decided to post again! I’ve been really running out of name inspiration lately and was looking for some help on nailing down what my naming style is and also looking for some new name suggestions!

Summary
One of your heavy names is usually balanced with a light one. You incorporate nature and feelings more into your boy names it seems, and girl firsts and middles are strong choices, no filler names! Nicknames seem important to you but you don’t chose a name based on the nickname alone.
Not sure if you agree with that but those are my takeaways!
I love that description so much! Thank you. I never realized that I go for more nature and feeling names for boys (could be described as softer names) while going for stronger names for girl names! That’s so interesting.
Your girl names make me think of old libraries and writing with a quill. Sitting on a garden bench reading with ivy covering an old stone wall kind of names.
You boy names make me think of pirate maps and sandglass timers and compass and boys in little short overalls trying to lauch those wooden rowboats in the summertime with a dog following them.
I would probably call it: historical fantasy childhood
I’d say your style is clunky cute but stylish, vintage with added flair. I’d also add you like unexpected nicknames! There’s a sort of earthy, foresty vibe to them as well!
This is entirely accurate and also goals. I’m going to be thinking about this description and my list for sure!
I feel like your boys are tree climbers and story lovers, who come back in from the garden muddy and exhilarated but are equally happy curled up inside with a stack of library books when it’s raining (especially if they’re tales of magic and mystery). They’d grow up to be adventurous and thoughtful, both strong and gentle.
The girls names give clunky vintage vibes at first but it’s intriguing how they’re put together. There’s an element of the literary and delicate, evoking afternoon teas, old photograph albums, rose gardens. But names like Matilda, Maude, Rosamund, have the feeling of ancient queens riding out to battle. Even your ‘delicate’ choices represent some strong women - Eleanor of Aquitaine, Shakespeare’s Beatrice. It could be described as ‘battle-axe vintage’!
To me the boys and girls seem to have subtly different vibes but they play together really well (and the girls are definitely going to succeed in storming the treehouse before teatime).
I literally cannot choose a favourite from your boys because they are all incredible and similar to my style. Of the girls, again it’s a very hard choice but I think Beatrice Maude just about has the edge. It’s not one of your pairings but I know a little Mat!lda Ed!th
I love this description! Your suggestions are all so lovely, but I am really enjoying Tabitha “Tiggy”. I’ve really started to love Tabitha as of late, but wasn’t sure what nickname would be good to give her a more youthful feel! Tiggy is perfect for that.
@persephonescrown I am totally adoring this description (especially the part where the girls storm the treehouse )! “Battle-axe vintage” isn’t that a cool description! Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply. I’m really loving all of the names you suggested! I think you captured my style really well. Also Mat!lda Ed!th is absolutely wonderful!
@CashTheUnicorn Your suggestions are really great! I’m especially liking Basil “Bash”, Gwenore, and MInola!
