My main character is a thirty-year-old man who’s been stalking this teenage girl for some time. I want something relatively common to demonstrate that anyone can be a creep, they’re just normal people on the outside. He’s a nice guy to his friends but closed-off and a bit rude to everyone else.
It takes place in the Deep South in a little Baptist town.
Names I’ve considered in the past are [name_m]Adam[/name_m], [name_u]Alek[/name_u], and [name_m]Ben[/name_m].
Thanks.
I think [name_m]Adam[/name_m] could be a good name, and maybe he could be stalking for a good reason, like maybe he’s not stalking because he has a crush on her, but is trying to see what she’s up to and all that.
He’s stalking because he’s an incredibly obsessive person. He struggled with cocaine addiction in the past and now he’s kind of replacing his addiction with her, if that makes sense.
That kind of sounds creepy, in my opinion. He should probably get arrested for that since I think it’s against the law to stalk people.
I agree with [name_m]Adam[/name_m]. For some reason, [name_m]Ben[/name_m] sounds too “nice guy” to be a stalker name. [name_m]Adam[/name_m] works perfectly.
For me, the ubiquitous “everyman” names for guys in their mid 30’s are:
[name_u]Chris[/name_u]
[name_m]Mike[/name_m]
[name_m]Joe[/name_m]
[name_m]Josh[/name_m]
[name_u]Tyler[/name_u]
(I’m in my early 30’s and I went to school with at least 2 guys with each of those names)
