I am pregnant with twins boys. It’s my first pregnancy and I’m extremely excited.
Which of my names [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like, which do you hate? [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to suggest/change/mix do whatever you want. Anything helps. I just want one of them to have an old fashioned/powerful name and the other one to have a “cool” unique/rare/fresh name.
Out of all of your names, the combination that I like best would be [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Scott[/name_m].
I like the names:
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m]
[name_m]Scott[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
I don’t really like the names:
Lansing
[name_f]Scotland[/name_f]
[name_u]Monroe[/name_u] (as a fn)
[name_u]Maison[/name_u]
[name_m]Clayton[/name_m]
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] I would like to have free range here and make up some combos that I like and I would like to see names with the same style eg [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Milo[/name_m] or [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Nelson[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] and [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] [name_m]Fintan[/name_m]
[name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_m]Thorne[/name_m] I really like [name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_m]Thorne[/name_m] but I like [name_m]Thorne[/name_m] and [name_u]Blake[/name_u] as first names for the twins ie [name_u]Blake[/name_u] [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_m]Thorne[/name_m] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Kenneth[/name_m] I think [name_u]August[/name_u] is getting too popular but if you like Scottish names then [name_m]Angus[/name_m] [name_u]Kendall[/name_u] would be a good alternative
[name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_u]Logan[/name_u] would love to see [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] and [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Lansing and [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
or
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_u]Reilly[/name_u]
or
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m] Lansing and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m]
or
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]
or
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
I love rollo’s suggestion of [name_u]Blake[/name_u] and [name_m]Thorne[/name_m]. I also like [name_m]Thorne[/name_m] and [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] together.
We love [name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_m]Thorne[/name_m] -I’m Scottish/British and my husband is [name_m]French[/name_m] American so it’s hard to agree on a name but we love this one- it’s classy and powerful with some “sass”!!! Thank you so much for helping us.
As for the other name… still looking for something old fashioned… with poise.
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] and [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] are family favorites but we can’t seem to find a good middle name for both… help!!
[name_m]Orlando[/name_m], [name_u]Orion[/name_u] and Lansing are my husband favorites
I really love [name_f]Scotland[/name_f] -mainly because I’m Scottish- but not sure if will be too much plus I need to find a good middle name.
[name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] sounds great!!
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] sounds amazing!!
[name_m]Clarence[/name_m] [name_m]Graham[/name_m]: Not a fan of [name_m]Clarence[/name_m], it makes me picture a frail, overprotected, nerdy upper-class boy in the 19th century. I like [name_m]Graham[/name_m]. [name_m]Clarence[/name_m] would be better as a middle name…what about [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Clarence[/name_m]?
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] [name_m]Nolan[/name_m]/[name_u]James[/name_u]/[name_u]Finn[/name_u]: [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] is too surnamy and seems pretentious to me, and I dislike the nicknames ([name_m]Monty[/name_m], Gummy…shudder). I don’t care for [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] but like [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u]. If [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] is a family name, [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] or [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] would be good.
[name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_m]Thorne[/name_m]: I love [name_m]Richard[/name_m] and [name_m]Thorne[/name_m] is OK as a middle name.
[name_m]Orlando[/name_m] [name_u]Blake[/name_u]: I like [name_m]Orlando[/name_m]…[name_u]Blake[/name_u] is OK but they don’t really seem to go together…[name_m]Orlando[/name_m] is romantic and Italian and old-fashioned, [name_u]Blake[/name_u] stolid and English-surnamy and rather trendy.
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Kenneth[/name_m]: I love this one! [name_m]Both[/name_m] names are handsome, classic, and underused these days, and they sound wonderful together.
[name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_u]Maison[/name_u]/[name_u]Logan[/name_u]/[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]: [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is good. I really dislike [name_u]Maison[/name_u], it means “house” in [name_m]French[/name_m] and seems like a fancified version of the way-trendy [name_u]Mason[/name_u]. [name_u]Logan[/name_u] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] are both better. [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] runs together like Gran [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] so I’d go with [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_u]Logan[/name_u].
[name_u]Monroe[/name_u] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]/[name_u]James[/name_u]/[name_u]Luca[/name_u]: I don’t care for [name_u]Monroe[/name_u], too surnamy and doesn’t seem handsome as a first name. I like [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] and [name_u]James[/name_u]. [name_u]Luca[/name_u] is handsome on an Italian guy but seems trendy and hipster-ish on a guy with no Italian background.
[name_m]Clayton[/name_m] [name_u]Finn[/name_u]: [name_m]Clayton[/name_m] is totally not my style. I like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] though.
[name_f]Scotland[/name_f] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]/[name_u]James[/name_u]: I very passionately dislike [name_f]Scotland[/name_f] as a name. [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] and [name_u]James[/name_u] are both good but need a better first name.
Lansing [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]: Lansing seems like a totally random and unromantic place to name after…I can at least see the appeal of [name_f]Scotland[/name_f] even if I don’t care for place names. I like [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] but it needs a first name that complements it better.
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Scott[/name_m]: Two great names…the only thing I don’t like is the way the S’s run together…Nicholascott, [name_u]Nicola[/name_u] [name_m]Scott[/name_m], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Cott.
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]: Two great names that go well together style-wise…the two J sounds so close together are slightly jarring but that’s my only nitpick.
So my favorites are [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Kenneth[/name_m], [name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_m]Thorne[/name_m], [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_u]Logan[/name_u], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Scott[/name_m], and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. Some more ideas:
I like [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Thorne[/name_m] & [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] [name_u]Finn[/name_u] a lot together. They have that classy feel, without being to presumptuous (like [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m]). Other suggestions:
Thank you all so much, I really appreciate it guys.
And thank you -chestnutmare- for profiling the names and telling me what you see in your mind when you think about them it really helped us.
[name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_m]Thorne[/name_m] –Is our number 1 pick- as for his brother we are still thinking…
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] – sounds fresh and classy! A top pick-
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] – dose it sound too much like [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]?-
[name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] – love the sound if it but is it too old fashioned?-
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Kenneth[/name_m]… we love it but my husband doesn’t not seem to think that they go well together… can you help me find another middle name that will go well with [name_u]August[/name_u]?
I think [name_m]Richard[/name_m] and [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] are a good match and both names have been off the radar for a while with [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] being the one that is being mentioned more than [name_m]Richard[/name_m].
