Help me name my THIRD girl!

Advice needed!!
My husband and I are expecting another girl and while we found it easy naming our daughters, we are really struggling this time around!

We live in [name]Scotland[/name] in the UK and our Surname is [name]Watson[/name].

Our daughters are named [name]Skye[/name] [name]Isabella[/name] and Avaleigh [name]Rose[/name] (known as [name]Ava[/name] 95% of the time!). As you can tell, I like a modern first name with a classic (safe?!) middle name, but will consider anything at this point!

My husband loves [name]Elliott[/name], with [name]Emily[/name] a close second. I like [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Cleo[/name]. We have considered choosing one each, such as [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Emily[/name]/[name]Emily[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] or [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]/[name]Cleo[/name] [name]Emily[/name]. We also like the names [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Grace[/name], [name]Florence[/name] and [name]Alice[/name] as middle names (probably not first names).

So what do all the berries think? Which combination works best? Which name goes well with our daughter’s names? Any other name/spelling suggestions would be appreciated too!

Thanks.x

[name]Cleo[/name] is my favorite of the fn contenders.

[name]Cleo[/name] [name]Grace[/name]

I think [name]Scarlett[/name] would fit the best as first name. I think [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Grace[/name] would be beautiful or [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Emily[/name].

[name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Emily[/name] is great or maybe [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Florence[/name].

I like [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Emily[/name] and [name]Elliott[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]!

[name]Love[/name] [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Grace[/name], but feel like I probably should try and use of my husband’s top choices as a first or middle. Im warming to [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Emily[/name] as it seems to fit the bill (modern first, classic middle and one of each of our top choices). However… As my eldest is called [name]Skye[/name], I worry about the names being too similar with both having the “Sc”/ “Sk” sound at the beginning. Is this an issue or am I making issues where there are none?!

I love [name]Elliott[/name] due to it being a bit different (quite like unisex names) and think that as a first name would probably go well with [name]Skye[/name] and [name]Ava/name. I would possibly pair it with [name]Grace[/name] or [name]Sophia[/name]. My issue with it is that in [name]Scotland[/name], peolle don’t tend to emphasise the letter “T” and it comes out much softer. Again, perhaps this isn’t an issue? Also not surd about spelling. I like it [name]Elliott[/name] for a girl, but know it’s more commonly spelled [name]Elliot[/name]. My husband suggested [name]Ellyot[/name]/Ellyet but I think they are both dreadful and look made up!! What do you all think?

[name]Emily[/name] is too similar to Avaleigh in my opinion so you should eliminate that name. If you decide to use the masculine name of [name]Elliott[/name], I would spell it the female French way, [name]Eliette[/name]. These are the names I think would be best with [name]Sky[/name] and Avaleigh.

1 [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
2 [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Emily[/name]
3 [name]Eliette[/name] [name]Florence[/name]

Completely agree about [name]Emily[/name] and Avaleigh rhyming! Tried to explain this to my husband but he doesn’t think it’s a problem as we call her [name]Ava[/name] most of the time. I [name]DO[/name] think it’s an issue and would use it as a middle name rather than a first! [name]Glad[/name] someone agrees with me!
Never seen the french spelling before, it’s actually quite pretty and perhaps would move it away from the boys name [name]Elliot[/name]!

Looks like [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Emily[/name] are the top cominations so far! [name]Love[/name] them both! Also still trying to see if I can.use [name]Elliott[/name] as a first (or middle) and [name]Mischa[/name]'s suggestion of [name]Eliette[/name] definately makes it much more usable for me!! Thanks to everyone who has posted so far!x

While your contenders are nice, I’ll list [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Chloe[/name] as names that hit similar notes and to me fit in a touch better. [name]Elliott[/name]/Elliette, [name]Scarlett[/name], and [name]Cleo[/name] are all nice and fine though : D.

My vote is for [name]Cleo[/name] or [name]Elliott[/name]/Elliette with [name]Skye[/name] and Avaleigh. [name]Eden[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name] are a couple of other names that work well with your sibset.

[name]Skye[/name], Avaleigh/[name]Ava[/name], and

[name]Cleo[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name] [name]Georgiana[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name]/Elliette [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name]/Elliette [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name]/Elliette [name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Florence[/name]
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name] [name]Lillian[/name]

[name]Scarlett[/name] is far too close to [name]Skye[/name]. [name]Emily[/name] does rhyme with Avaleigh but if she goes by [name]Ava[/name] I don’t think it’s that much of a problem - but I’d keep those as first names. [name]Elliott[/name] is far to masculine in comparison to your daughters name, everyone would assume you wanted a boy.

I love [name]Cleo[/name]! [name]Skye[/name], [name]Ava[/name], and [name]Cleo[/name] makes a fantastic sibset. [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Scarlet[/name], [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Emily[/name], or [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Florence[/name] are all gorgeous.

Alternatives:
[name]Cleo[/name] - [name]Chloe[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Claire[/name], [name]Clemency[/name], [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Claudia[/name], [name]Claude[/name], [name]Echo[/name], [name]Juno[/name], [name]Hero[/name].
[name]Scarlett[/name] -> [name]Violet[/name], [name]Laetitia[/name] ([name]Lettie[/name]), [name]Nicolette[/name], [name]Caroline[/name] ([name]Carly[/name]).
[name]Emily[/name] -> [name]Emma[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Emilia[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Elodie[/name], Esmée, [name]Ellery[/name], [name]Eleri[/name], [name]Clementine[/name] ([name]Clemmie[/name]).
Ellliott -> [name]Ella[/name], [name]Eliora[/name], [name]Elinor[/name], [name]Eliana[/name], [name]Elise[/name], [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Bridget[/name], [name]Liora[/name], [name]Leonie[/name],

[name]Cleo[/name] and [name]Eliot[/name] are my favourites from your list. The [name]Eliot[/name] spelling is more associated with the author [name]George[/name] [name]Eliot[/name] (real name [name]Mary[/name] [name]Anne[/name] [name]Evans[/name]), which it why it’s my favourite spelling for a girl. I hadn’t thought of Éliette as a related name to [name]El/nameiot! Éliette is quite an old-fashioned name in French, pronounced more like Eel-yet or Ail-yet, depending on the variety of French you speak.

[name]Cleo[/name] [name]Emily[/name], [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Florence[/name], [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Eliot[/name] [name]Florence[/name], and [name]Eliot[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] are great full names ([name]Eliette[/name] [name]Alice[/name] is lovely, too).

I am going to issue an official vote for [name]Cleo[/name], a wonderful name, perfect with those of your other two daughters’, while also distinct. And yes, you have a range of great middle names, any of which work well with [name]Cleo[/name] and fit your sibset. I much prefer [name]Cleo[/name] to [name]Eliot[/name] (in any spelling) as it’s distinctly female yet sleek and modern, has a historic basis yet – okay, gotta repeat myself, is sleek and modern, is an unusual name that’s not trendy the way [name]Eliot[/name] is, and also can’t be reduced to a kinda boring nickname as with [name]Elliot[/name] devolving to [name]Ellie[/name].

[name]Skye[/name] and Avaleigh are super cute!
I agree with the others that think Avaleigh and [name]Emily[/name] are too close. I also think that [name]Skye[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] are too similar.
I am not a fan of boy’s names on girls, so I really dislike [name]Elliott[/name] and any other spelling. It you like [name]Ellie[/name], there are a lot of other ways to get to that nn.
My pick is definitely [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Grace[/name].
Some other names you might like:
Elowen
[name]Ellery[/name]/[name]Eleri[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Esme[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Flora[/name]
[name]Colette[/name]
btw, there is a British actress named [name]Emily[/name] [name]Watson[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] [name]Watson[/name] from the [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] movies…

I absolutely love [name]Elliott[/name]! Some suggestions:

[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Claire[/name]

[name]Love[/name] [name]Violet[/name] so much but husband thinks it sounds too much like Violent so its a no! [name]Chloe[/name] is quite popular where we live, so I wouldnt use it although its pretty.x

[name]Cleo[/name] - is nms. But…
@sugarplumfairy suggested [name]Juno[/name] and [name]Esme[/name] which I both really like.
I think [name]Juno[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] or [name]Esme[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] would be darling and not too close to either of your other girls names. [name]Both[/name] have great historic value but feel fairly modern ([name]Juno[/name] more so than [name]Esme[/name]). I think [name]Scarlett[/name] as a mn would be perfect in combo with your other girls mn’s.

Wow! [name]Just[/name] stunned that you would reply! Completely agree about the trendiness of [name]Elliott[/name] (in any spelling) hasn’t caught on in a big way for girls in the UK - yet. I’m beginning to hear it more though and could be one that just explodes (as [name]Ava[/name] did in [name]Scotland[/name] in 2010, much to my dismay). My biggest fear is that it would be shortened to [name]Ellie[/name], as it’s SO overused nowadays (no offense meant to anyone if they like that name!). I love the idea of [name]Eliette[/name] as a way of appeasing my OH in a way that I’m comfortable with, however I know deep down that people with just shorten it to [name]Ellie[/name].
So! For those reasons - and due to your valued opinion - [name]Cleo[/name] has rocketed to my number one choice!
