Help me name our Christmas surprise!

Berries, I desperately need your help. None of my friends in real life can relate to my name taste and I need help coming up with suggestions for our girl pup!

She is a [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] surprise for my girls. She is a Havanese (Cuban breed), and will be 10 lbs maximum, likely less. She is all blck with no markings.

So far I love the name [name_f]Holliday[/name_f] for her. But I don’t think I like the nickname [name_f]Holly[/name_f] (and let’s face it, dogs with long names can feel cumbersome). Everyone says “[name_f]Holliday[/name_f]? What kind of name is that?”

I also love [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] (nickname [name_f]Glory[/name_f]), [name_f]Bianca[/name_f], and [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f].

My husband likes [name_f]Jovie[/name_f] (it’s christmas-y to him because it’s the name of the girl on Elf), [name_u]Raven[/name_u], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].

I need something cute like her that fits her personality and is easy for my girls to say.

(My girls names are [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Capri[/name_f], [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f])

Any suggestions?

I like [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] with one “L”, the extra “L” is unnecessary, especially for a pet. I mean, she won’t have to sign any paperwork so the extra “L” will hardly come up.

I suggest “[name_u]Yule[/name_u]”, “[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]”, or just straight up “[name_u]Christmas[/name_u]” as well. I also like “Cozy”, which is what most holidays are supposed to be.

My own cat is named for Halloween. She is a torti (orange and black), and does the Halloween cat pose frequently. Her name is Spooky Pumpkin.

I love [name_f]Holliday[/name_f]/[name_f]Holiday[/name_f] for her! And if you did come around to the nickname [name_f]Holly[/name_f], that would be doubly festive :slight_smile:

It’s a shame you’ve already used [name_u]Winter[/name_u] for one of your girls (great names, by the way!), because [name_u]Winter[/name_u] “[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]” would fit her perfectly too.

Sticking with the festive theme, how about:

I don’t think [name_f]Holly[/name_f] is bad but I just worry there’kl be a bunch of other [name_f]Holly[/name_f]’s at the dog park.
