Both combos are beautiful! But I prefer [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] as a first name just a little bit more than [name_f]Freya[/name_f], so that’s what I voted for. You can’t go wrong either way though.
About the nicknames, [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] probably will get shortened at times since it’s long and a bit of a mouthful for some, but I think as long as you insist on being called by your full name too then you should be fine. Same with [name_f]Freya[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Freya[/name_f] Nox flows better than [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Nyx[/name_f], but my vote goes to your [name_f]Freya[/name_f] combo. I love [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] but I find the whole thing a bit long and involved, and I’m not a big fan of [name_u]Percy[/name_u] for a girl.
thanks for the help @namechange93 I guess since I’ve never had a nickname before I’m worried about it
@katinka really? I may have to think about Freya Nox then. yea I figured some people might not like Percy on a girl. Thanks for the help
Does anyone else have any opinions or suggestions that might help?
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f]
Maybe [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] as a full name for [name_f]Nyx[/name_f]. Nox to me sounds like masculine [name_m]Knox[/name_m] and I’m not a fan of [name_u]Percy[/name_u].
Vote for [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Nyx[/name_f]… I don’t really like Nox as a name, sorry.
@anothersunnyday that’s such a pretty name thank you
Not really too keen on [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] @mellohorn20 but thank you
@luneth I figured Nox wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea I just didn’t want to let go of [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] (Nox is considered the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] equivalent I think) even though I don’t want names from the same origin but I may reconsider
what does everyone think of [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] instead?
I like [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f]
Somehow I don’t like [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] together. Most likely because of the repeating “ph” sound and the flow. I really like [name_f]Lux[/name_f] though.
I love [name_f]Freya[/name_f]! [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is cool, however the nn [name_u]Percy[/name_u] for a girl is unappealing to me. Also, [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] with [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] seems like perhaps a bit too much.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] earned my vote. It’s very cute, but, while I do prefer [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] to Nox for a girl, I agree with @katinka that Nox fits better with [name_f]Freya[/name_f].
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] Nox [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
From your choices, I like [name_f]Freya[/name_f], for a suggestion I’d say [name_u]Artemis[/name_u].
Why not just [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f]?
I was named in honor of a family member and while I’m not particularly fond of the others in my family she did mean a lot to me. While I may associate my name more with the rest of my family I would like to keep the initials from my first and middle to honor her. The initials are S and N, so if I were to forgo [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] I’d definitely keep [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] or vice versa.
I do like [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] a lot so it’s definitely in contention
I like [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] as a first name. And [name_f]Lux[/name_f] as the middle. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'r like Nox or [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] (reminds me of the makeup brand.)
I just wanted to say thank you for all the help and suggestions I really appreciate it. Though I’m still not completely decided on which name I’ll pick yet, all the input has been really helpful so thank you.
This is quite a journey you’re making! You seem to have a style pinned down though, and put a lot of thought into it already, so that’s good. I want to remind you that if you find yourself inwardly defending one of your choices whenever others voice a negative opinion about it, it’s probably because it’s the one you’re most attached to. If that’s the case, you should just tune out every one else and go with it! It’s your name and your choice. You’re the only one who has to potentially be bothered with it so it’s really nobody else’s business…
So.
My first hiccup with these names is I really don’t like the transition from Nox/[name_f]Nyx[/name_f]/[name_f]Lux[/name_f] to [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], both because they clash stylistically and because the -ks ending runs into the S- of [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]. ______ [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] Nox/[name_f]Nyx[/name_f]/[name_f]Lux[/name_f] would be better if you insist on keeping an -x ending name, but it’s not ideal with a monosyllabic surname.
I love [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], but [name_u]Percy[/name_u] is my least favourite nickname for her, and I don’t like how many sounds she has in common with [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]. Their first syllables rhyme, they both have an N in the last syllable, they both have four syllables, both have an F sound in the middle and they also share the S sound, although it’s found in slightly different places. I would not use [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] in the same combo (maybe not even for sisters because I’m a little obsessive about sibsets and this would feel very much like a pattern…) And I’m not fond of the -ne ending’s transition into the Ny- beginning of [name_f]Nyx[/name_f], it sounds like your saying the same thing twice (neenee or something), especially with the same thing happening in the transition from [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] to [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f].
I also love [name_f]Freya[/name_f], and the 2-1-4(-1) rhythm is better than the 4-1-4(-1) rhythm of the [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] combo. I’m still tripping over the sounds in the transition from [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] to [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] though. To me, [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] feels more lacy, frilly and dainty than fiery, so she feels a little out of place next the names of powerful, mythological women. Like a daisy in a thunderstorm.
If I had to choose, I would go with the [name_f]Freya[/name_f] combo. I like the sound of [name_f]Freya[/name_f] with your last name, and I think [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is harder to wear when changing your name as an adult because people are going to assume they know things about you based on your name choice.
I tried making combos with alternative S and N names. Tried to keep with the feel of your favourites. If you’re curious about any of the names, don’t hesitate to ask! ^^ I would also like to submit [name_f]Nephele[/name_f] and [name_f]Selene[/name_f] as possible first name choices, putting the N or S first would open op some more options with regards to middles. ([name_f]Nephele[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] [name_f]Athena[/name_f] or [name_f]Selene[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] Nocturne for example?)

[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] [name_f]Severine[/name_f]
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_f]Solstice[/name_f] [name_f]Noa[/name_f]
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_f]Noa[/name_f] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] or [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_f]Noa[/name_f] [name_f]Soley[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Nona[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] or [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Nona[/name_f] [name_f]Severine[/name_f] or [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Nona[/name_f] [name_f]Spirit[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Solstice[/name_f] [name_f]Noor[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Silvana[/name_f] [name_f]Nuria[/name_f] or [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Silvana[/name_f] [name_f]Noble[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Saga[/name_f] [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] or [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Soleia [name_f]Nimue[/name_f]

[name_f]Rowena[/name_f] [name_f]Starling[/name_f] [name_f]Nuria[/name_f]
Also, finally, there are a lot of similar endings among your top names, all of them with N in them (-ena x2, -one, -ana) which makes it tricky to make good combos with an N middle name. I would personally consider not using them for that reason, which would help you narrow down the list. (You’d be left with [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is still my favourite of those three!)
Maybe
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_f]Nyx[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_f]Nimue[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] Nox
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_f]Nimue[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] Nox or [name_f]Nyx[/name_f]
I voted for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and I like [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] nn [name_u]Percy[/name_u] and [name_f]Nyx[/name_f]. Nox is interesting name, but I am not a fan.
holy crap I some how manage to miss these posts. Thank you so much guys for the help!!!
@dearest wow you gave me a lot of great names and so much to think about. Honestly [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] being such stark contrast in a way is why I liked them together. Would reversing them make the transition better? and with doing that make [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] the first name and [name_f]Nyx[/name_f] the first middle name instead. Also how do you pronounce [name_f]Nephele[/name_f]? It looks beautiful but I obviously wanna make sure I’m saying it right. [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is my favorite too but sometimes I do wish it was longer but I dunno. I wanna make sure I get this right cause I don’t wanna have any regrets once I legally change it.
@sorceress thank you for the suggestions they are lovely names
I think [name_f]Misty[/name_f] would be a cool nickname for [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], just throwing it out there
