I adore [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f], and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], but I think either [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] or [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] goes best with your sons name, and I voted [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] as my favourite of the two.
I love [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], but the first two feel rather tame beside [name_m]Archimedes[/name_m] (!), so [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] got my vote.
[name_m]Plenty[/name_m] of sweet nn options to go with [name_m]Archie[/name_m] too: [name_f]Effie[/name_f], Sephie, [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], Persie…
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] options! I love [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], but I would go with either [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] or [name_f]Berenice[/name_f] (preferably the standard spelling), as you definitely need a Classical name to match the wonderful [name_m]Archimedes[/name_m].
[name_m]Arch[/name_m]!e & P!ppa would be an adorable sibset!
It would only let me vote for one so I voted [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]. I adore it. But I also love [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f]. And [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] are great too!
I voted for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], but also love [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f]. I find [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] and Beronice interesting too, though [name_f]Berenice[/name_f] is the spelling I’m more familiar with.
I adore [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] and would use it in a heartbeat. I also love [name_f]Philippa[/name_f], mainly because of the nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], but I feel like it’s a little underwhelming next to [name_m]Archimedes[/name_m]. I quite like [name_f]Hypatia[/name_f] and [name_f]Galatea[/name_f] as well!
[name_f]Hypatia[/name_f]!!!
[name_f]Hypatia[/name_f] has such a fabulous namesake and stands up so well to [name_m]Archimedes[/name_m] (too well maybe, but I don’t care). She really brings the strength and wisdom like none other, in my mind. However, [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], and [name_f]Galatea[/name_f] would also stylistically match [name_m]Archimedes[/name_m] quite well, and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is probably my favorite out of those three.
I like [name_f]Galatea[/name_f], [name_f]Hypatia[/name_f], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] or [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] best style wise with your son’s name. My vote went to [name_f]Galatea[/name_f] which I’ve always found beautiful, if too adventurous for my own naming style. Plus it has the light and sweet nickname [name_f]Tea[/name_f] to go with it!
I like [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] the best! Phae ([name_f]Faye[/name_f]) for short is adooooorable, especially with big brother [name_m]Archie[/name_m].
I also adore [name_f]Galatea[/name_f]. From your list, [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] would be my number 3.
My top 3:
& Thank you for introducing me to [name_f]Hypatia[/name_f] and [name_f]Galatea[/name_f]!! I also think [name_m]Archimedes[/name_m] is really cool!
Thank you all so much for your feedback! I am absolutely open to the more standard spelling of [name_f]Berenice[/name_f], I have it spelled with an O here because I chose it after a female botanist of antiquity.
[name_f]Hypatia[/name_f] was my favorite for a long time but I’ve always paused with it because our last name is [name_m]Harris[/name_m] and I’m always a little apprehensive with aliterating names.i’m now considering it as a middle name.
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] was never on my radar and then last week I saw it pop up somewhere and was like, “how have I never considered this name before?” Like someone here said, I really love the sound of [name_m]Archie[/name_m] and [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]! But so many of these names have great nn options.
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is a longtime favorite because of [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_m]Potter[/name_m], not only was she one of my favorite authors growing up but she was a botanist, naturalist, and fungal biologist at a time where women in science weren’treally recognized in Europe. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if we don’t end up picking it as a first name, it will likely be a middle (my family has a tradition of giving girls two middle names.)
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f], [name_f]Galatea[/name_f], and [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] are all just so romantic and while they don’t have the same nods to science and mathematics as the others are so beautiful and fit nicely with [name_m]Archimedes[/name_m]. [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] has been a long time favorite of my partner.
Haha I’m sure you can all see why I asked for help via poll, I can’t shorten this on my own!
[name_m]Archimedes[/name_m] goes best with [name_f]Hypatia[/name_f] imo.
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f]! It is gorgeous, elegant and reminds me of [name_f]Gala[/name_f] as well as of the myth. And I’m swooning over your son’s name - so cool!
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] is my favorite name on your list! [name_m]Archie[/name_m] and [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] is one of the best sibsets ever!
I voted for [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] but also love [name_f]Winnifred[/name_f]!
[name_f]Hypatia[/name_f] and [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] - amazing names!
[name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] or [name_f]Persephone[/name_f].
This thread is really helping me narrow it down to first vs. middle name options.
Also thank you to everyone who has said kind things about my son’s name! My partner and I were both absolutely in love with it and determined to use it but were concerned about reactions. Aside from a few opinionated relatives we’ve had overwhelmingly positive feedback.
