[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! So… in my fantasy story I am writing, I have two faeries (currently.) They’re sort of like the mosquito equivalent in the magical world, I guess? And they like jinxing and insulting-- basically super annoying.
The problem is, I have one faerie ([name_f]Elowen[/name_f]) and another faerie, who’s been named twice but neither work. The first name idea I had was [name_f]Fae[/name_f]. Now, I never even realized the similarity between [name_f]Fae[/name_f] and faerie (I’m not changing the spelling to fairy is this works better) until somebody pointed it out… then, of course, it became unusable.
So I tossed more ideas around and ended up using [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f]. I was looking for Cornish (though not restricting to that) or names that ended in -wen, as I had some idea that the suffix would be a sort of familial tie with some complications I won’t list here (because now I think that idea was sort of silly, lol.) [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is the other faerie’s cousin.
But then [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f] got kicked out the window because I realized I knew one and so THAT didn’t work either. Now, back to the drawing board. I don’t [i]have[i] to get rid of it because I don’t know the person very well, but now I can’t get the fact that they share names out of my head.
[name_f]Arwen[/name_f] sounds like a fairy name imo but that might be too [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings for you. There’s always [name_f]Branwen[/name_f], [name_f]Olwen[/name_f], [name_f]Arianwen[/name_f], and [name_f]Anwen[/name_f] those don’t seem very fairy-like though. I put [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], and [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] in namehunter and found [name_u]Fallon[/name_u], [name_f]Celestia[/name_f], [name_f]Maren[/name_f], [name_f]Eira[/name_f], and [name_f]Eleri[/name_f] which I really like but not sure about as a sibset with [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]. [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleri[/name_f] sounds the best out of those together imo. Some other suggestions:
[name_f]Estella[/name_f]
[name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_u]Arden[/name_u]

[name_f]Flower[/name_f] names like [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Posey[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] might work for your faerie. I think nature names sound wonderful on characters which are in harmony with nature.
For your faerie;
[name_f]Pixie[/name_f]
[name_f]Trixie[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
[name_f]Cherry[/name_f]
[name_f]Lark[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u]
[name_f]Bronwen[/name_f] is a great name but if you are uncomfortable using it, here are some other (-wen) names you could use:
[name_f]Aeronwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Anwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Arianwen[/name_f] (my fav)
[name_f]Arwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Baldwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Blodwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Branwen[/name_f] (similar but slightly different so a great alternative for [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f])
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Dilwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Dwynwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Lynwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Mairwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Nolwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Olwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhonwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Tanwen[/name_f]
