My policy towards most names and bullying is: if they want to do it, they will. If the name is teasing-proof, they will pick at something else.

That said, I know a teenage [name_f]Luna[/name_f] ([name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Lourdes[/name_f], but no one calls her that); she’s shy, artsy and sensitive but seems really proud of her name. Her own dad has called her lunatic as a pet name, she likes it.

Anyone else?

[name_u]Vega[/name_u]
[name_f]Zella[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]
[name_u]Lyric[/name_u]
[name_u]Larkin[/name_u]
[name_m]Luka[/name_m]
[name_f]Lux[/name_f]

I like both names, but personally I’d chose Luna over Ivy - Luna just has this soft feel to it that I adore! I’ve honestly never heard “lunatic” in Luna, but if this something you’re concerned about, I agree with the previous poster’s comment…kids will be kids, and I think you should go with the name that sounds best to you:). With the name Luna I’ve always pictured a sweet, curious little girl. Not to mention the meaning is adorable! Some other names you might like…

Olive
Iris
Nora
Alice
Elodie

Both are beautiful, but I’d go with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] because I think it’s more timeless than [name_f]Luna[/name_f].

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] by a mile! I don’t understand the recent love for [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. I just don’t get it. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is a beautiful name that fits very well with your sons.

I just don’t get it.

@boyandgirl That was rude. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is a very nice name and it is timeless, here, in Spain, we’ve been using it for ages. You shouldn’t say that to someone who loves the name. Be polite please.

I prefer [name_f]Luna[/name_f] to [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] with your boys’ names. I feel that, when you pronounce [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] together you have to force it a bit (I can¡t explain myself) whereas [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] & [name_f]Luna[/name_f] flow perfectly and sound even better

I chose [name_f]Luna[/name_f] because I prefer it over [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], but both options are very nice.

It’s very close, but I would choose [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. It sounds beautiful with [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m].

I chose [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] but with your worry about the surname and the names of your two sons, I think [name_f]Luna[/name_f] fits better, and is still a very beautiful name.

Definitely [name_f]Luna[/name_f]! To me it’s more enchanting, more magical, and has a better meaning. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] reminds me of poison and of hospital IVs. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is all moon for me :). Also if your last name starts with V, [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] V is a bit too much.

I like both, but I like [name_f]Luna[/name_f] best with your other children. I wouldn’t worry about teasing, [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is a common enough name, so many people will be familiar with it. I think of [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] and the moon when I hear [name_f]Luna[/name_f].

[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] sound absolutely fabulous together! I love the moon association, and the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] connection too. I honestly do not think teasing would be a problem, but you could always use [name_f]Lu[/name_f] or [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] as nicknames! Good luck

I cannot not speak for the loveliness of the name [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. :stuck_out_tongue: It’s sweet, astronomical, naturey, mythological and just beautiful. I don’t think “lunatic” will be a huge issue (personally I just laugh it off). If people want to tease, they’ll find something to tease anyway, no matter what’s her name.

OP I happen to love [name_f]Luna[/name_f], so that’s my pick with your V surname. I don’t think [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is ALWAYS connected with “lunatic.” Though in my case, I have a T surname and in that setting, it does sound too much like “lunatic” to me.

If you realize that [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is your “true love,” then I don’t think the V surname is “the worst.”

You do have a couple of significant “buts” with each name though, so if one doesn’t come out on top closer to naming time, you might think about looking for some new ideas that don’t give you such problems.

FWIW, I didn’t think @boyandgirl was rude.

I chose [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] because I’m not a fan of the repeating -a sound at the ends of [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. I think [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] flows better than [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], and [name_f]Luna[/name_f]

If I could have voted for [name_f]Willa[/name_f] I would have. I voted as my 2nd choice [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. I don’t care for [name_f]Luna[/name_f], reminds me of a cat name.

Personally, I love [name_f]Luna[/name_f], but I think not seems disconnected from your boys names which are very traditional/biblical. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] probably sits with them better, but I’m not as fond of it.
