[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there!
I’m new here and looking for anonymous feedback on baby names. Y’all know you can’t run baby names past family, haha.
I just found out today that my 1.5 year old will be a big brother come [name_u]October[/name_u] pending everything ‘sticks’, don’t wanna jinx it! We have a boy name we’ve been sitting on for a while but still don’t have an ‘it’ girl name. We won’t be finding out the gender, so the pressure is on.
Right now, our top girl names are [name_u]Collins[/name_u], [name_u]Camille[/name_u], and [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] (Teddy). Big brother is [name_u]Declan[/name_u]. Thoughts on these names or suggestions for others are appreciated!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
I love Declan…great job there!
Here are my thoughts on what you’ve got so far:
Collins-I’m honestly not a huge fan. I feel like it sounds last name-ish & kind of boyish.
Camille-That’s nice. It feels smart & pretty but not frilly. And the nns [name_f]Callie[/name_f] & [name_f]Millie[/name_f] are adorable. I’m not into [name_f]Cami[/name_f], which may or may not be avoidable.
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] (Teddy)-Theodora is just lovely. [name_u]Strong[/name_u] yet feminine. Well known enough, but fairly unique. I prefer the nn [name_f]Thea[/name_f], but [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is sort of cute for a girl when she has a more feminine full name like [name_f]Theodora[/name_f]. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is quite popular for boys, but I’d say more of them go by [name_u]Theo[/name_u] than [name_u]Teddy[/name_u].

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]! Thank you for your thoughtful response and suggestions. I sort of feel the same way about all 3 names as you’ve laid them out! [name_u]Collins[/name_u] seems too masculine, and [name_u]Camille[/name_u] is ‘nice’ I just wonder if [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] is too quirky. Looking at the other suggestions again! You’re so kind!
With [name_u]Declan[/name_u], [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] and [name_u]Camille[/name_u] are nice!! [name_u]Collins[/name_u] has a different vibe
I’ll also suggest
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
Thea/Anthea
[name_f]Orla[/name_f]
[name_f]Keira[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Callie[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
Congratulations! I hope your pregnancy goes as smoothly as possible!
I agree that [name_u]Collins[/name_u] sounds masculine and perhaps a bit too “trendy” next to [name_u]Declan[/name_u], which has a more classic feel to it. [name_u]Camille[/name_u] is a very nice name, but [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] would definitely be my top pick! In my opinion, it is not too quirky and it has so many great nicknames!

Congratulations!!
I love the names you have as contenders if baby is is a girl.
[name_u]Collins[/name_u] and [name_u]Declan[/name_u] seem so perfect together! I love them as a sibling set . I also am a big fan of gender neutral names for girls
[name_u]Camille[/name_u] is beautiful and I can see working for all ages and stages of life. There is so much nickname potential (Amy, [name_f]Cami[/name_f], [name_f]Millie[/name_f] , [name_f]Callie[/name_f] , [name_u]Allie[/name_u] , Immie)
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]- I really love the potential of [name_f]Dot[/name_f] and [name_u]Declan[/name_u] or [name_f]Dora[/name_f] and [name_u]Declan[/name_u] ! It’s a name that I don’t think is very well used in real life !
Other girls names that could work for Declan’s sister :
[name_f]Keira[/name_f]
[name_u]Dempsey[/name_u]
[name_f]Brianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Erin[/name_f]
[name_u]Keeva[/name_u]
[name_u]Kiley[/name_u]
[name_f]Meira[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Oona[/name_f]
( I tried to stick to Irish names like Declan’s)
I love [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]! Thank you!!!
I definitely agree, [name_u]Collins[/name_u] has a totally different feel! Thank you!!
[name_u]Collins[/name_u] and [name_u]Declan[/name_u] seem the best paired in regards to having the surnamey feel to them.
[name_u]Camille[/name_u] maybe matches in that it carries maybe the same vibe as Declan….
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] I love but I see it the least with [name_u]Declan[/name_u]
I also thought [name_u]Collins[/name_u] and [name_u]Declan[/name_u] sounded like a great sib set!
I love Declan! I think Camille fits really well with it, but Theodora would also work.
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] means “man of prayer”.
How about:
- [name_f]Anina[/name_f] (means “let my prayer be answered”)
- [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] (means “yielding to prayer”)
- [name_f]Dua[/name_f] (means “love, prayer”)
- [name_f]Ora[/name_f] (means “prayer”)
Congratulations!
I think [name_u]Camille[/name_u] fits the best with [name_u]Declan[/name_u]! I’m not sure if you’re concerned about popularity of names at all, but Theodore/Teddy is currently VERY popular for boys. So [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] for a girl would probably be seen as trendy and popular as well. I do like [name_u]Collins[/name_u], but it feels like a slightly different style than [name_u]Declan[/name_u]. It still works though if you have your heart set on it.
Some other ideas
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u]

[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_f]Liliana[/name_f]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_f]Molly[/name_f]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_u]Ariel[/name_u]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_f]Lena[/name_f]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_u]Lennon[/name_u]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_u]Sutton[/name_u]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_f]Demi[/name_f]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f]
For what it’s worth, if I saw [name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_u]Collins[/name_u] written somewhere I would assume two brothers. I love [name_f]Theodora[/name_f].
I like Camille/Camilla best with [name_u]Declan[/name_u]. I also love the suggestion of [name_f]Keira[/name_f]! Good luck!
Congratulations! [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought is that if you think you might have more children and want to coordinate sibling names, [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] and [name_u]Camille[/name_u] have a more old-fashioned feel, whereas [name_u]Collins[/name_u] feels very modern. Thoughts on each name:
[name_u]Collins[/name_u]- it sounds preppy and tomboyish to me, but I’ve only ever heard it on girls. I prefer more feminine names, but [name_u]Collins[/name_u] has a pleasant, fresh, stylish sound.
[name_u]Camille[/name_u]- pretty, timeless and elegant, but not frou-frou. I imagine a [name_u]Camille[/name_u] as sweet, on the quiet side, and smart.
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] (Teddy)- I really like [name_f]Theodora[/name_f]! It strikes me as bookish and capable. That said, it’s the kind of name I’d be a bit nervous to use because it’s quite heavy and serious. But your daughter would have [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] and other nickname options. (Thea, [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_f]Dot[/name_f], maybe even Dolly)
I thought that [name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_u]Collins[/name_u] sounded perfect together but after reading a previous comment I realized that I would think these are two boys.
I think [name_u]Declan[/name_u] & [name_u]Camille[/name_u] sound good together and I love the name [name_u]Camille[/name_u]! Probably my favorite for you of the 3 names listed.
I really like [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], but not so much with [name_u]Declan[/name_u]. It could still work, of course. [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is cute.
Congratulations on baby #2! I think [name_u]Camille[/name_u] fits very well with [name_u]Declan[/name_u], and I like [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] too.
Fwiw, I know of two little girls named [name_f]Theodora[/name_f]. One is called [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] and the other is [name_u]Theo[/name_u].
[name_u]Declan[/name_u] and [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is so cute!!! Absolutely love those all!!

Thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions, friends! Its funny to see most people are in agreement with the names. I didn’t think [name_u]Collins[/name_u] would get as much hate as it did, and [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] got more love than I expected.
I really love some of the suggestions, particularly [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and Sutton… If only my husband didnt dislike them. [name_u]Sutton[/name_u] might be my favorite of all.
Xoxo for all of the love!
