So the two girls names at the top of our list are [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name]. In all likelihood we’d call [name]Eva[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]” a lot. [name]Annabel[/name] would occasionally be shortened to [name]Anna[/name] or possibly [name]Abby[/name]. So which name do you like better and do you think [name]Abby[/name] is a useable nn for [name]Annabel[/name]? I’m a nickname person so I have to have one. Thanks!!!
I don’t really see [name]Abby[/name] for [name]Annabel[/name], although I do know a little [name]Annabel[/name] whose dad calls her Abs. I prefer [name]Anna[/name], [name]Annie[/name], or [name]Belle[/name] for [name]Annabel[/name] (I also definitely prefer the [name]Annabel[/name] spelling!). I really love [name]Eva[/name], though, and [name]Evie[/name] is a cute nn.
I think [name]Annabel[/name] is very nice, and I would prefer the nicknames [name]Annie[/name] or [name]Belle[/name] or [name]Bella[/name].
I’m never sure how to pronounce [name]Evie[/name]–is it with the same long E that’s in [name]Eva[/name] or with a soft E as in [name]Evelyn[/name]? [name]Do[/name] people use both of these pronunciations? They are both beautiful names. In my mind [name]Annabel[/name] is a tad sweeter and more innocent, whereas [name]Eva[/name] has a slightly exotic and sensuous nature. Aside from that, the range of nicknames for [name]Annabel[/name] is appealing. I think I would decide based on how well each sounds with your last name and/or how you feel when you meet her.
I love [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name] and they would make perfect sisters. I can’t see [name]Abby[/name] as a nickname for [name]Annabel[/name] either, sorry. [name]Eva[/name] ‘[name]Evie[/name]’ would probably get my vote, if [name]Abby[/name] is the pick for [name]Annabel[/name]. I much prefer [name]Belle[/name] to [name]Anna[/name] too.
