Baby is due in a few weeks and still haven’t committed to a name!
Our front runners were:
-[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] (last name also 2 syllables ending with -ee sound so second guessing)
-[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (will be seen as naming after a family member which I was hoping to avoid)
I have also liked [name_f]Leila[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], but hubby not in love with any of them.
Can anyone suggest similar, not TOO popular names? Middle name will be 1 syllable. Thanks!
Not sure where you’re located so apologies if these are popular in your area, but some ideas with the same style as [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Leila[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]…
Welcome to Nameberry! I agree that [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] may not flow with a last name ending in -ee as in [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_m]Davey[/name_m] which is unfortunate as it is such a cute name. I am thinking that you could spell [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] as [name_f]Elisa[/name_f], or name her [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and use the nn [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], or [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] with [name_f]Elisa[/name_f] as her nn? Other suggestions for you…
Names like [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Leila[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] to flow with a two-syllable, -ee ending last name…
What about [name_u]Elisha[/name_u] (EElySha)? I think it’s so pretty for a girl, a little unique and similar to [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] without being a nn for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
Maisie is so cute, but I can see how it may be too cute w/your ln. What do you think of using [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] as a nn for something like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] or [name_f]Maureen[/name_f]?
