So we are due with baby number 7 in about 4 weeks and my head is swimming with names. I just can’t seem to find the one that makes my heart sing. We don’t know the gender so that is compounding things a bit. For girls I usually lean towards old fashioned names with a flower or color theme (I already have a [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_m]Jaymes[/name_m] and a [name_f]Clover[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f]). For boys I’m all over the board. Some of the names we have been tossing around are:
Girls:
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
Boys:
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Tyde[/name_m]
[name_u]Jory[/name_u] [name_m]Ivan[/name_m]
**I like the idea of throwing some sort of luck reference in there since it’s baby number 7, but hubs has already vetoed [name_m]Felix[/name_m]. You all are so amazing at coming up with great name combos, I’m praying you can help me out. I’d love to have it narrowed down to at least two boy and two girl names that we love before we head to the hospital
What about [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] for a girl? [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_u]Seven[/name_u] has some flair too. [name_f]Muriel[/name_f] is a lovely name that seems to fit with the names you mentioned: [name_f]Muriel[/name_f] [name_u]Bay[/name_u], [name_f]Muriel[/name_f] [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], [name_f]Muriel[/name_f] [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f], or [name_f]Muriel[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] all work well.
[name_u]August[/name_u] works well with the other names you mentioned, but [name_u]Jory[/name_u] seems a bit out of place. What about [name_m]Amaury[/name_m] instead? [name_m]Amaury[/name_m] [name_m]Tide[/name_m], [name_m]Amaury[/name_m] [name_u]Spruce[/name_u], [name_m]Amaury[/name_m] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m], or [name_m]Amaury[/name_m] [name_m]Irving[/name_m] work well.
I like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] but every single little girl born these days has [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in the middle spot so personally I’d avoid using it. Since you like flower names maybe a longer version would be nice, like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Roselina[/name_f] or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Rosella[/name_f]. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is one of my favourite names too, I find her so classy and elegant. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is adorable imo.
For boys [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Tyde[/name_m] is lovely. I really like [name_u]August[/name_u], not huge on [name_m]Tyde[/name_m] but the combo works. I’d maybe go with [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m].
I could see you with a [name_m]Judson[/name_m] for a boy . I love [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] and I could also see you with a little [name_f]Willow[/name_f] (And [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_u]Seven[/name_u] is pretty cool). Also I have the name [name_f]Septima[/name_f] which means seven in Latin or [name_m]Septimus[/name_m] for a boy. Very cool especially if it’s going to be your last child (go big or go home!).
[name_f]Edit[/name_f] = [name_f]Ellamae[/name_f] for a girl? Very cute and southern!
I like your name style and admire much more that you are managing nearly 7 little people.
From your names I love [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] and [name_u]Clare[/name_u] maybe would use both. [name_f]Willow[/name_f] as suggested by PP is forever lovely.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] I am not as fond of with your sibset and similarly [name_u]Seven[/name_u] might be too obvious as baby is no.7. Your call!
Girls- [name_f]Calla[/name_f]; Names like [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] that have flower meanings, [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], Irish, [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] (as a second as its close to [name_f]Clover[/name_f]) [name_f]Raina[/name_f], [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f], [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], [name_f]Lana[/name_f], [name_f]Glenna[/name_f], or [name_f]Riona[/name_f]/[name_f]Roisin[/name_f]:
Boys- [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], [name_m]Brenden[/name_m], [name_u]Clancy[/name_u], [name_m]Cleary[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u] or [name_u]Rian[/name_u] but I do love [name_u]August[/name_u].
I have to apologize for taking so long to respond. We have been out of town. Thank you so much for all of your suggestions and help. I am really liking [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] as well as the suggestion to maybe lengthen [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I am still struggling a lot with boy names, but I think [name_u]August[/name_u] is our top pick. If anyone has any other suggestions for girls or boys, I’d love to hear them. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this site! Thank you!!
I love [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. Have you thought about [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] (or [name_f]Lily[/name_f], to go along with your flower theme)?
I also think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a very pretty middle name, and as it looks like you are leaning towards longer first names, a shorter middle might help with the flow. I think [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is lovely. I like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] nn [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] (if you like nicknames, if not, then just [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]), though it’s a bit trendy right now. [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is also pretty.
I really like [name_m]Silas[/name_m] for a boy (actually have a very good friend with a [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and a [name_m]Silas[/name_m], which is really upsetting because [name_m]Silas[/name_m] is one of my all-time favorite boys’ names and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is one of my favorite girl names, so I got robbed twice there) and it’s nature-y and seems to fit with the general feel of the other names you’ve mentioned. I also like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and it fits with your theme, but it may be too popular for your taste. [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] is another nature-inspired name for a boy-- classy, familiar but not super popular; [name_m]Nash[/name_m] is even less popular. [name_u]Sutton[/name_u] is another option, just has a very different feel than [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] and [name_m]Nash[/name_m]. [name_m]Julian[/name_m] nn [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is another favorite of mine, but again, it’s getting popular. And, of course, I do really like August as well, it’s definitely a nice option if you decide to go with that.
Good luck!
I love [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] as well.
For girls, what about:
[name_f]Maisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] ([name_f]Sera[/name_f])
For boys:
[name_u]Saylor[/name_u]
[name_m]Nevan[/name_m]
[name_m]Cillian[/name_m]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_m]Soren[/name_m]
