I’m counting down the weeks (at 33 weeks now!) till baby boy is due and we have yet to decide upon a name. I could use any help/ suggestions you can give!
Wants:
Name that fits well with [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], our 3 year old (nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f])
[name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] as the middle name (husbands first name, tradition), surname is two syllable, ending in “so”
I love a good nickname, so some nn potential would be great
[name_f]My[/name_f] name style preference is mostly vintage yet familiar, not so common names. I like nature themes or meanings.
-Husband loves the idea of a Finnish name due to his heritage, but it is not a must. Plus he is VERY picky…
Some names I love but vetoed from DH:
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u]
[name_m]Otis[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
Our top two names are [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] (which I love, but DH only likes) and [name_m]Eero[/name_m] (which we both really like, but I can’t pull the trigger on due to the potential pronunciation confusion here in the US).
Also considering:
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_m]Oskar[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (love [name_u]Theo[/name_u] but this name has become a little too common in my area)
I think [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] nn: [name_u]Kit[/name_u] & [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] “[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]” would make the sweetest sibset
First thing that came to mind was [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]. [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] would be super and handsome and you can use [name_u]Max[/name_u] orbGus as a nickname. [name_u]Gus[/name_u] & [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] would be super cute
It seems we have very similar taste in names. I love [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and almost all of the boys’ names you’ve listed. [name_m]Eero[/name_m] is quite cool but I do understand your concern re pronunciation. I especially love [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Otis[/name_m], [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]; [name_u]Orion[/name_u] is cool too.
