What wonderful ideas! I do love [name]Jane[/name], [name]Maren[/name], [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Lydia[/name] and many others. I love strong, sophisticated names that will grow with the child. No one had ever heard of [name]Stanton[/name] so matching this with an equally strong girls name that is no over used at this point appears to be difficult. Many of the “older” names are now becoming very chic!

Strong names that are fairly rare in the US these days:

Yeardly came to mind. Or…

[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Rebecca[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Honor[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name]

These are wonderful suggestions. Thank you so much. We continue to debate on the following names. What are your thoughts? I would like something preppy yet traditional.

Girls:
[name]Colette[/name]
[name]Alexandra[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Kendall[/name]
[name]Constance[/name]
[name]Jacqueline[/name]
[name]Brooke[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]

Which one fits best with [name]Stanton[/name]? We welcome more ideas please! We continue to struggle with girl names!

Thank you!

I like [name]Colette[/name] and [name]Constance[/name] best with [name]Stanton[/name]. [name]Colette[/name] would be more Preppy

[name]Brooke[/name], [name]Sloane[/name] and [name]Kendall[/name] would take the sibset in an entirely different direction for me.

From your new names I like [name]Kendall[/name], [name]Jacqueline[/name] and [name]Brooke[/name] with [name]Stanton[/name]. They seem to match well for sound and feel.

A few more suggestions are:
[name]Alexis[/name] (sounds preppier to me than [name]Alexandra[/name], if that’s what you’re after, and sounds great with [name]Stanton[/name]!)
[name]Cadence[/name]
[name]Jenna[/name]
[name]Paige[/name]
[name]Blake[/name]
[name]Laine[/name]
[name]Elaine[/name]
[name]Greer[/name]
[name]Aviva[/name]
[name]Cassidy[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Tamsin[/name]
[name]Juneau[/name]
[name]Lorelei[/name]
[name]Hilary[/name]

From your updated list, I really like [name]Catherine[/name] (although I would go with the less common spelling of [name]Kathryn[/name]), [name]Jacqueline[/name], & [name]Victoria[/name]. They are all strong, classic names and go well with [name]Stanton[/name]. They also have cute nickname options which might better suit your daughter while she is young, allowing her to grow into the fullness of her name as she ages.

I find [name]Brooke[/name], [name]Sloane[/name] and [name]Kendall[/name] aren’t so classic.
[name]Brooke[/name], for me is a nature name, so doesn’t give the strong impression that [name]Stanton[/name] does.
[name]Sloane[/name] is not very feminine to my ears
[name]Kendall[/name] -I always hear [name]Ken[/name] -[name]Doll[/name] and think of [name]Barbie[/name] and [name]Ken[/name].
[name]Constance[/name] is a good, strong name, but it is a virtue name that might not wear well on your daughter, depending on her personality. Then again, she might grow into the name. Or, you might nickname her [name]Coco[/name] (or something like that) and that might suit her well.
[name]Colette[/name] for me is a cutsie name. If you wanted a strong name to go with [name]Stanton[/name], you could pick [name]Nicola[/name], [name]Nicole[/name] or [name]Nicolette[/name], nn [name]Colette[/name]
[name]Alexandra[/name] is over the top strong for me. [name]Alexandrina[/name], [name]Alexa[/name], or [name]Alexia[/name] sound a little softer to me while still being classic, strong names.

Other options (strong, classic names that aren’t English in origin):
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Bronwyn[/name] or [name]Bronwen[/name]
[name]Rebekah[/name]
[name]Sarah[/name]
[name]Anastasia[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Eleanora[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]

Thank you so much for these suggestions. As our last name is pronounced (Cha-Cow-ski), coming up with a suitable name is difficult. [name]Stanton[/name] is a strong family name and carries itself well with our last name. My husband is leaning toward the following:

[name]Catherine[/name] ([name]Kathryn[/name])
[name]Jacqueline[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Alexandra/name

But my question is always… aren’t those popular names? I don’t her to be one of many in a classroom. I like strong classic names yet preppy and unique. This combination appears to be difficult to find. I would appreciate any thoughts you may have! We are still open to new names!

I agree with you, those are rather common names ([name]Catherine[/name], [name]Victoria[/name], [name]Jane[/name]). Nothing is quite so distinctive as [name]Stanton[/name].

It seems from your second suggestions and your use of the word “preppy” that you might be after a surname vibe to match your son… With that strong Polish surname,I would limit myself to two syllables max, use softer sounds for a girl, and avoid -ton names to not be overly matchy.

[name]Eames[/name]
[name]Eavan[/name]
[name]Ellis[/name]
[name]Laine[/name]
[name]Linden[/name]
[name]Lorraine[/name]
[name]Reese[/name]
[name]Walden[/name]
[name]Wyndham[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Margot[/name] / [name]Margaux[/name]
[name]Dawes[/name]
[name]Mireille[/name]
[name]Pearce[/name]
[name]Petra[/name]
[name]Phaedra[/name]
[name]Portia[/name]

For some reason I immediately thought of [name]Claire[/name], I think [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Stanton[/name] sound great or [name]Clea[/name] if you want a rarer name.

Like a few before me, I too like “[name]Cecily[/name]” with [name]Stanton[/name]. The only [name]Cecily[/name] I knew started college at 16, and studied engineering and art and I associate it with her, and think of it as a strong, academic name.
I think that names that start with a “C” work well with [name]Stanton[/name]… [name]Constance[/name] was another - its preppy and strong and unique to my ears, but I would pair it with a shorter middle name.
I like [name]Alice[/name] too, I think it fits what you are looking for. Or are you looking for more modern names?
