Help us choose a second name (Japanese) for Mari

Back again with our new final names and much less time to decide! We abandoned [name_f]Runa[/name_f] bc of pronunciation issues with friends and family and have chosen [name_f]Mari[/name_f] instead, its more common in both languages. We will choose a second name for her that will be only Japanese.

We like nature themed names the best and have narrowed it down to two! Japanese names can have many different interpretations because of kanji so I will share the meanings we prefer. We are open to other suggestions but neither of us want to use the older aged 'ko ending.

[name_f]Mari[/name_f] [name_f]Nanami[/name_f] - seven seas
[name_f]Mari[/name_f] [name_f]Kasumi[/name_f] - mist, haze
[name_f]Mari[/name_f] Fuyumi - beautiful winter
[name_f]Mari[/name_f] Fujiko - wisteria child, I know, a 'ko, this is my exception I love wisteria
I could also change to Fujika, which is beautiful wisteria

Such lovely meanings! I think I like [name_f]Mari[/name_f] Fujiko/a best, followed by [name_f]Mari[/name_f] [name_f]Kasumi[/name_f] :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

These are such beautiful names  [name_f]My[/name_f] personal favorites are [name_f]Mari[/name_f] [name_f]Nanami[/name_f] and [name_f]Mari[/name_f] [name_f]Kasumi[/name_f], but I think I prefer [name_f]Mari[/name_f] Fujiko/a the most out of all of them!

[name_f]Mari[/name_f] is so beautiful!

I love all these meanings, it’s hard to choose but I think [name_f]Mari[/name_f] Fujiko is my favorite!

Mari is gorgeous!

I really like Mari Nanami and Mari Fujiko, such poetic meanings

I like [name_f]Mari[/name_f] Fujika the best of all the options.

[name_f]Mari[/name_f] [name_f]Nanami[/name_f] has such a sweet and charming sound. [name_f]Mari[/name_f] Fujiko and [name_f]Mari[/name_f] Fujika are beautiful too!!

Thank you!! I think [name_f]Kasumi[/name_f] is my favorite if we do not go with Fujiko. I love the meaning of Fujiko but 'ko endings are usually a much older generation. Though it will be her middle name so that might not be too much of an issue.

Thank you very much! I love the meaning of Fujiko so it’s unfortunate that those names are out of style. However, maybe it does not matter too much as it would be her middle name.

Thank you! [name_f]Mari[/name_f] means [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] and I love flowers and plants. Fujiko is my favorite as well because of the meaning but I am struggling with the general perception that 'ko endings are old ladies or from the 70s. Maybe that is okay though as it’ll be her middle name!

Thanks so much! [name_f]Mari[/name_f] means [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] which I really love. Fujiko is my favorite on the list as well but I am just having an internal struggle with the common perception that 'ko names are old ladies. Maybe this will be okay as a middle name though and it has a beautiful meaning!

Thanks very much! Fujika has the added benefit of still being wisteria but not the older themed 'ko endings.

Thank you very much! I love the ocean themed meaning of [name_f]Nanami[/name_f]. [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] is my favorite plant so I am really drawn to Fujiko and Fujika, I love Fujiko the most but it is very strongly associated with older generations.
