Help Us Name Boy #3

We had a fairly easy time naming our first three children, two boys and a girl. Their names are Welsh or Old English in origin. However, the birth of our third boy is imminent and nothing feels right…

Here’s are the contenders:

[name]Asher[/name] [name]Everett[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Cross[/name]
[name]Cain[/name] [name]Everett[/name]
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Everett[/name]
[name]Lachlan[/name] [name]Cross[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name] [name]Everett[/name]

We keep pairing [name]Cross[/name] or [name]Everett[/name] as a middle name but it’s not a requirement.

Any thoughts?

I like [name]Cain[/name] and callum with everette. what about [name]Killian[/name]??

Cool names! My favorites from your list are [name]Dashiell[/name] and [name]Callum[/name]. I think that [name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Cross[/name] is awesome!

[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Augustin[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Conrad[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Gideon[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Gray[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Harrison[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Reed[/name] (unless you pronounce [name]Dashiell[/name] with the -eel ending…)
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Xavier[/name] (I’m pronouncing it [name]Dash[/name]-el Zave-ee-er)

[name]Callum[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Gabriel[/name]

Good luck!

[name]Love[/name] [name]Callum[/name]!

My third boy is named [name]Reece[/name] which I just love. You could use the original [name]Rhys[/name] spelling.
Warning, though, there seem to be quite a few [name]Reese[/name] girls popping up.
We could use some more boy [name]Reece[/name]'s in the world.
[name]Reece[/name] [name]Everett[/name] sounds good!

[name]Asher[/name] [name]Everett[/name] - I love this. [name]Asher[/name] is such a handsome name and I like it with [name]Everett[/name], although I sort of have to take a break between saying the two names so they don’t run on.
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Cross[/name] - I like this too, although I’m less sure about [name]Cross[/name]. [name]Brennan[/name] [name]Cross[/name] sounds a little like a bridge or a historical site.
[name]Cain[/name] [name]Everett[/name] - I am not so keen on the name [name]Cain[/name], but I think it does go beautifully with [name]Everett[/name]
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Everett[/name] - very handsome
[name]Dashiell[/name] - I agree with [name]Jill[/name]. [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Dashiell[/name]!
[name]Lachlan[/name] [name]Cross[/name] - I love the name [name]Lachlan[/name], but for me this has the same problems as [name]Brennan[/name] [name]Cross[/name].
[name]Quinn[/name] [name]Everett[/name] - I am starting to see [name]Quinn[/name] as a girl’s name, but again, I like this combination. [name]Everett[/name] is such a great mn!

Some more names you might like:

[name]Asher[/name] [name]Everett[/name] really jumped out to me. [name]Callum[/name] [name]Everett[/name] is my second favorite.

If you don’t mind me saying as soon as I read [name]Cross[/name] I thought “Oh, no”. Sorry, but it gives me a negative vibe.

[name]Everett[/name] is a great name though but I feel that the flow with [name]Asher[/name] is off

These are the names that I like on your list

What are baby’s siblings names so that we can get a feel for your naming style?

I love…

[name]Callum[/name] [name]Everett[/name]
[name]Lachlan[/name] [name]Cross[/name]

Siblings are [name]Evan[/name] [name]Garrett[/name], [name]Greyson[/name] [name]Locke[/name] and [name]Caelan[/name] [name]Laine[/name]. And, yes, we’ve been getting a few “Oh No’s” on the middle name [name]Cross[/name]. It made me think we needed to ask the masses to be brutal with us before we strapped our child with something cringe-worthy.

I was thinking that [name]Cross[/name] is a family name for you. If not, I think I’d go with something else. I really love your boys’ names!

Wow - your children’s names are gorgeous!! Although now I understand where you’re coming from with [name]Cross[/name] (it does fit in with [name]Garrett[/name], [name]Locke[/name] and [name]Laine[/name]), I don’t think it works.

However, I’d like to change my mind on [name]Cain[/name]. I didn’t like it when I read it but it’s been going round my head for a couple of days and has grown on me. [name]Cain[/name] [name]Everett[/name] is very handsome, but it may be too similar to [name]Caelan[/name].

[name]Evan[/name], [name]Greyson[/name], [name]Caelan[/name]

Here are a few ideas

[name]Tennyson[/name] [name]Everett[/name]
[name]Tobin[/name] [name]Elliott[/name] nn [name]Toby[/name]
[name]Declan[/name] [name]Neale[/name]
[name]Quentin[/name] [name]Pierce[/name]
[name]Preston[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Lachlan[/name] [name]Douglas[/name]
[name]Darien[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Patrick[/name] [name]Everett[/name]
[name]Alister[/name] [name]Kiernan[/name]
[name]Clinton[/name] [name]Hunter[/name]

Re [name]Cain[/name]
I just couldn’t use [name]Cain[/name] because of the Biblical story.

See [name]Genesis[/name] Chapter 1

“And [name]Cain[/name] talked with [name]Abel[/name] his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that [name]Cain[/name] rose up against [name]Abel[/name] his brother, and slew him”

[name]Love[/name] your name choices. I vote for [name]Dashiell[/name], I love this name and the nn [name]Dash[/name] and I think it sounds really nice with the sibling names. If cross is a family name I would use it, if not, I would use something else. I personally love family surnames as middles.

Perhaps you’ll know what’s right when you see him.

There was total agreement when I suggested to my husband that we make Top 4-5 lists for each - Boy & Girl - & wait until the baby is born then we’ll choose the one that feels right.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Dashiell[/name], [name]Callum[/name], and [name]Lachlan[/name].
[name]Do[/name] you love [name]Cormac[/name] or [name]Declan[/name]?

[name]Declan[/name] was on our short list but our last name is [name]DiC[/name]… and we were having a little trouble with the double D. We love [name]Dashiell[/name] as well but both Dec and [name]Dash[/name] sound a little like superheros when paired with [name]DiC[/name]…

Lots of votes for [name]Callum[/name] but my husband has decided he doesn’t like it, particularly the possible nn [name]Cal[/name]. Same with [name]Asher[/name], nn [name]Ash[/name]. We had all but eliminated [name]Cain[/name] for biblical reasons already.

We’re left with [name]Brennan[/name] and maybe [name]Dashiell[/name]. We had talked about [name]Gavin[/name], [name]Ciaran[/name] ([name]Kieran[/name]), [name]Lincoln[/name] and [name]Killian[/name] in the past too.

Any alternate mn suggestions for [name]Brennan[/name]?

Let’s see – with [name]Evan[/name] [name]Garrett[/name], [name]Greyson[/name] [name]Locke[/name], [name]Caelan[/name] [name]Laine[/name]

I like…

[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Asher[/name]
[name]George[/name] [name]Brennan[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Walter[/name] ([name]Dash[/name])
[name]Dominic[/name] [name]Hugo[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Felix[/name] [name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Fletcher[/name] [name]Caine[/name] ([name]Fletch[/name])

Some ideas:

[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Alec[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Dai[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Huw[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Parry[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Forbes[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Grant[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Nicol[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Calder[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Ross[/name]

Here are a few B names to consider

[name]Brennan[/name] is handsome does it flow well with your surname?

Also love [name]Simon[/name]

For an alternative to [name]Brennan[/name], what about Breacan )pronounced “[name]Breck[/name]-awn”, but can be spelled [name]Breckin[/name], as in [name]Meyer[/name]). It means “little freckled one” in Irish Gaelic.
