[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everybody! We just found out we are about to have our third little girl. Last name starts with an A as in [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] (but is very [name_m]German[/name_m] sounding and different). Sisters are [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. Middle names are welcome! (But we cannot use [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Kate[/name_f], or [name_f]Mae[/name_f]).
I’d love to hear some thoughts on these names. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] was our top contender until we found out a friend/neighbor (who is due first) is naming her baby [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. It kind of ruined it for us a bit.
PS I’m not concerned about popularity. Our last name is extremely uncommon, so I don’t mind a familiar first name. Also, I’d rather have my child be one of two in a class with a classic name than stand out with a unique/made up name. Thanks in advance for any advice and thoughts!
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] is quite lovely. All these names are, really. The only two I am less drawn to are [name_f]Myra[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. It seems I am meeting and hearing of more Amelias lately. [name_f]Myra[/name_f] sounds to me like an old lady, but that may just be me.
I love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] with [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I’ve only known one [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]…my cousin (she’s about 27). Her middle name is [name_f]Marie[/name_f] (predictable). [name_f]My[/name_f] second pick would be [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. Followed by [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is nice but doesn’t “go” as well as [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], would be off the table for me too. [name_f]Myra[/name_f] is the only one I don’t care for. [name_f]Mya[/name_f] (or [name_f]Maya[/name_f] or [name_f]Maia[/name_f]…whichever you prefer) would get my vote though.
I’m not sure what kind of middle names you’re looking for but here’s a few suggestions…
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Breanne[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] (I know you said [name_f]Kate[/name_f] was out but I wasn’t sure about [name_f]Katherine[/name_f])
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]
Other fn suggestions: [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Hailey[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f] (instead of ivy), [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f].
Thanks for the input so far! [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is my husband’s favorite as well, so he’ll be glad to know you all like it.
[name_f]My[/name_f] hang up with [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is that I can’t find a middle name I like with it! I thought of [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] or [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], but I worry they sound too choppy.
I love [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]! Not sure about [name_f]Nora[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]… [name_f]Myra[/name_f] is nice too but [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is still my favourite!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] sound like perfect sister names. I also like that each name has it’s own ending sound. [name_f]My[/name_f] second choice would be [name_f]Nora[/name_f].
If you both love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], maybe you’d like [name_f]Evie[/name_f]? It could be short for [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]…
Or maybe [name_f]Edie[/name_f]? Short for [name_f]Edith[/name_f] or [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]? I also like a pp’s suggestion of [name_f]Iris[/name_f] in place of [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].
Good luck deciding, and congratulations! Your list is lovely, you really can’t go wrong.
OK guys, so after talking with my husband today we actually think our front runner may be [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. What do you all think of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]? Maybe I should start a new post to ask that.
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is nice. I was just going to post saying I think [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] goes the best with your other 2 girls
