Help us with a first name!

We are Due in February, having an awful time finding “the name”.

We have a [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Chantal[/name] who is 6 (Dh is step dad, anyways…) and she was named after my Ex’s mom who had passed away ([name]Chantal[/name]).

For a girl we would like to honor our moms named [name]Nora[/name] [name]Ann[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Frances[/name], and this would most likely be in the middle name slots. [name]Nora[/name] is not an option as my mom hates her name and has asked that we not use it.

Current Middle Name options

______ [name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
______ [name]Ann[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
______ other ideas?

We like [name]Charlotte[/name], neither of us [name]Love[/name] it, and we are nervous about how popular it may become.
DH likes [name]Willa[/name], I am not sure. His other suggestions have been awful (to me) being [name]Bertha[/name] and [name]Gertrude[/name].
I have loved [name]Arianna[/name] for a long time, but this name doesnt feel right, loved [name]Aurora[/name] NN [name]Rory[/name] and received huge negative feedback from family. I like [name]Lily[/name], however too close to my sisters daughter.

We do not like ‘trendy’ names, do not like last names on girls, do not like unisex names, prefer classic feminine names for girls. Not too worried about popularity as none of the top 25 (minus [name]Chloe[/name] obviously) are names that I like.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

I like [name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]…I would even go with [name]Eleanora[/name] as a first name!

I also think [name]Arianna[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Aurora[/name] are very pretty.

Maybe [name]Arabella[/name] or [name]Oriana[/name], [name]Camille[/name] or [name]Celine[/name] instead?

I much prefer the [name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] mn combo to [name]Ann[/name] [name]Frances[/name]–it flows better, and it’s nicer to honor the grandmothers’ first names than their middles. [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] might be even better.

[name]Charlotte[/name] is pretty, but combining it with [name]Margaret[/name] in any way is tough–too many repeated sounds. [name]Willa[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] is nice though.

Other possibilities:

[name]Adrienne[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] (too Roosevelty, maybe?)
[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Bryony[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Geneva[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Justine[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] (I think this goes especially nicely with [name]Chloe[/name])
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]

What about _______ [name]Frances[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]? I really like [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Frances[/name].

I like [name]Frances[/name] [name]Ann[/name] or [name]Frances[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] as mn combinations.

I do like the names you’ve come up with, especially [name]Willa[/name] and [name]Aurora[/name]. I also like [name]Charlotte[/name], but I don’t like the Ch theme with [name]Chloe[/name].

Some other names I think go well with [name]Chloe[/name]:
[name]Phoebe[/name] (I know this was already suggested, but for me it is the perfect fit with [name]Chloe[/name] so wanted to second it)

Good luck!

[name]Hi[/name]!

I love your [name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] combo, and think it would make a great first and middle name! I also love [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] as a first name middle name.

Other names to honor a [name]Nora[/name]:

[name]Annora[/name] (Latin name that means “honor,” which honors both [name]Nora[/name] and [name]Ann[/name])

______ [name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]: I love this!

______ [name]Ann[/name] [name]Frances[/name]: Because both names contain the “ann” sound, I like [name]Eleanora[/name]/[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] better.
______ other ideas?

Other middle combos that also work as first and middle names:

[name]Anna[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Frances[/name] (I think the “belle” does a good job of separating the “ann” sounds in both names)
[name]Frances[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]

Other names to honor [name]Margaret[/name]:

[name]Pearl[/name] ([name]Margaret[/name] means “pearl”)

[name]Chloe[/name] and:

[name]Anna[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Nell[/name] (with the N honoring [name]Nora[/name])
There’s an actress named [name]Ann[/name]-[name]Margret[/name], though)

[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Honor[/name]/[name]Margot[/name] [name]Honor[/name]

[name]Blythe[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Frances[/name]/[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]

[name]Esme[/name] [name]Annora[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]/[name]Annora[/name] [name]Margot[/name]/[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]/[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Frances[/name]/[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Annora[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] (nn [name]Evie[/name])

[name]Helena[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Honor[/name]/[name]Margot[/name] [name]Honor[/name]

[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margot[/name]/[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]/[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Frances[/name]/[name]Annora[/name] [name]Margot[/name]

[name]Iris[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margot[/name]

[name]Julia[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Anne[/name]

[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Margo[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]

[name]Lila[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Anne[/name]/[name]Margot[/name] [name]Annora[/name]

[name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]/[name]Annora[/name] [name]Margot[/name]/[name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Margot[/name] (pretty similar to [name]Chloe[/name], though)

[name]Marielle[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Honor[/name]/[name]Margot[/name] [name]Honora[/name] (or the [name]Annora[/name] spelling)

[name]Rose[/name] [name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]/[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]/[name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margot[/name]

[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margot[/name]/[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Anne[/name]/[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]

[name]Tess[/name] [name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margot[/name]/[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]

[name]Violet[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Maisie[/name]/[name]Violet[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Frances[/name]

[name]Willa[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Anne[/name]

Sorry for repeats!

Best wishes to you!

I’ve noticed in birth announcements that [name]Sophie[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] are often used as sister names with [name]Chloe[/name]. I like them all. [name]Both[/name] [name]Sophie[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] are Greek in origin like [name]Chloe[/name], and all three end in the “ee” sound like [name]Chloe[/name]. As your [name]Chloe[/name]'s full name is not overly long, I’d probably use [name]Ann[/name] [name]Frances[/name] as the middle names for her baby sister:

[name]Sophie[/name] [name]Ann[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Ann[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Ann[/name] [name]Frances[/name]

While [name]Sophie[/name] is my favorite of the three, perhaps it’s too close to [name]Chloe[/name] for sisters. (I know of a Chlo” due in [name]January[/name] who will have an Aunt [name]Sophie[/name], age 14.)

I think [name]Chloe[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] are very compatible names and brilliant together. [name]Chloe[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] are darling together too.

This is what i thought of

[name]Nira[/name]/[name]Nera[/name] [name]Ann[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]- very similar to [name]Nora[/name] and has the same meaning
[name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Ann[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Lyra[/name] [name]Anne[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Myra[/name] [name]Ann[/name] [name]Francis[/name]

Thanks for all the suggestions!
So many are so great! I have compiled a list of my favs and will present to Dh AGAIN!!

My first choice is [name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]. I would love to name a little girl [name]Eleanora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name], giving her the nickname of “[name]Ella[/name]” as [name]Eleanora[/name] is a big name (in my opinion) for a little person. It perfectly honors both grandma’s… they are both feeling left out as other grandchildren have been born and a couple named after the grandpa’s…

I know that the “ella” name is very popular plus with the bella’s and belles, but with [name]Eleanora[/name] it would give her a very different name to grow into and to have as the name on the door as a CEO!

Now to get DH on board…
