Couch is a hard surname to work with, isn’t it? [name]Serena[/name] Couch is my favorite. The rest sound odd.

Good to hear your opinion! Yes, Couch is so difficult!

Since Couch is obviously an everyday word, and a slightly funny one as a name, definitely avoid alliteration. ‘[name]Cora[/name] Couch’ belongs in children’s books alongside [name]Jenny[/name] Jumps and [name]Pam[/name] Pickles, know what I mean?

You need a long, feminine, pretty girls’ name to lighten Couch and to draw attention away from it. [name]Serena[/name] works beautifully-- it’s elegant, serious and lovely.

[name]Scout[/name] is an absolute no-go, and if Digit was meant to be [name]Bridget[/name] it is a bit too quirky. [name]Piper[/name] and [name]Lulla[/name] likewise draw attention to the wordiness of Couch.

[name]Serena[/name] is great but if you can avoid something ending in A it would be better, as you would avoid ‘a couch.’

Ideas:

[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name]
[name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name]
Anything ending with -[name]Elle[/name]

Thanks [name]Blade[/name] for your very thoughtful and helpful response!

[name]Piper[/name] Couch or [name]Serena[/name] Couch, [name]Piper[/name] has a slight preference with be because I don’t like [name]Serena[/name].

[name]Serena[/name] Couch! Your surname is similar to mine “Crouche”

I agree with most of what blade said. Word names like [name]Piper[/name] and [name]Scout[/name] sound unpleasantly strange with Couch. A long, feminine first name like [name]Serena[/name] balances it out nicely.

I actually quite like [name]Cora[/name] Couch, although it’s certainly on the quirky side.

Couch is hard… [name]Serena[/name] is the best of your choices, but I think you could do better!

I voted for [name]Serena[/name], I like the name and it works with Couch, but agree there could be better. Going on [name]Blade[/name]'s suggestion of long and not ending in A being best (my thoughts exactly), here are some suggestions:

[name]Abigail[/name] Couch
[name]Adrienne[/name] Couch
[name]Beatrice[/name] Couch
[name]Dorothy[/name] Couch
[name]Eleanor[/name] Couch
[name]Elizabeth[/name] Couch
[name]Eloise[/name] Couch
[name]Emily[/name] Couch
[name]Josephine[/name] Couch
[name]Jillian[/name] Couch
[name]Lillian[/name] Couch
[name]Margaret[/name] Couch
[name]Miriam[/name] Couch
[name]Natalie[/name] Couch
[name]Penelope[/name] Couch
[name]Vivian[/name] Couch

Thanks everyone!

I voted for [name]Serena[/name] because it was the only one to me that didn’t sound bad (sorry!), but something was still slightly off and I didn’t realize what until I read [name]Blade[/name]'s post – it’s the “a couch” sound. I agree that a longer, more feminine name would be better. I should also note that normally I am a HUGE fan of alliteration, but with Couch, it just sounds silly. From pp’s list, [name]Abigail[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], and [name]Margaret[/name] are my favorite, but they don’t sound like your style. The only with with a first name beginning with A is that on many class lists and whatnot, she’ll be A. Couch. Not sure if that’s a big deal or not. [name]Just[/name] throwing it out there. Couch is really difficult. I feel your pain! Good luck!

[name]Evelyn[/name] Couch
[name]Zoe[/name] Couch
[name]Noemi[/name] or [name]Naomi[/name] Couch
[name]Juliet[/name] Couch
[name]Coraline[/name] Couch nn [name]Cora[/name]

Sorry for the repeats
